We stayed in a hotel very close to Lovers Point and walked on the trail to get downtown every day. Every morning we ran the trail from Lovers Point to the Wharf and back and it's a great place to run. The weather is excellent and the views are always amazing. You can stroll the trail at a leisurely pace... More

What a great place to walk or run or cycle! We parked the car in one of the car parks by Fisherman's wharf and walked some of the trail (would have done more but short for time). Stunning scenery and a really nice walk! Worth a trip if you are staying in Monterey.

We took the trail from a parking lot near the Navy Post Grad school to the Monterey Aquarium. The trail is well marked and well maintained. We did find it crowded when we got to the downtown area. Lots of walkers make it hard to ride the bike. The views were great and it was a lot easier that driving... More

You can ride from Marina through the dunes area, or along the coast over towards Pebble Beach on the trail. Sometimes you are on the shoulder rather than a separate pathway, but the cars are generally very considerate of cyclists. The pathway out towards Marina is separate from the roadway and less trafficked than the trail through Pacific Grove.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at Cannery Row & walked along the Recreation Path into Monterey. It's a beautiful walk where you can watch the seals, sea lions etc. Some seem to mold themselves to their particular rock! Thousands of boats moored up, colourful buildings & just a delightful way to watch the sea & animals living by... More

Had a great time going towards lovers point also went the other way towards marina that's not as good. We had our own bikes but could have rented at adventures by the sea. The trail is easy and safe the views south are beautiful, went with kids 10 & 13 and rode to lover point and the aquarium easily

Loved all the harbour seals basking on the rocks! Great trail system that meanders along the coast. Beautiful views of the bay and the glorious seaside houses.

Surreys, strollers, joggers, walkers, bicycles, dogs; all gather respectfully to share this gem. Stop to enjoy the kayakers, divers, seals, blue sky and water. Take scenic photos and selfies! Market, eateries, shopping, beach, and rocks to climb on. Paved blacktop with lanes with dirt paths on either side of the paved path. It can get crowded with tourists so cautiously... More

This was located very close to our hotel and provided a safe path for my husband to run for 10 miles and then for both of us to walk on as well. There were sea lions along the way and some beautiful scenery. Lots of people use it, but it wasn't too crowded.
