We chose Princess by recommendations from our hotel. The boat was first rate with a very able crew. The narrator did a wonderful job during the tour explaining many facets of the bay. Almost immediately we saw whales and several varieties of dolphins and sea lions, and giant ocean sunfish. Out from the bay to open seas and over to... More

After doing a lot of research on where to take a tour (LA or further up the coast) and which company to use, we settled on this one and were quite happy with our choice. The boat was in excellent shape and the staff were fantastic. We were out for about 2.5 hours and saw several groups of whales, a... More

my wife & I will probably never have the opportunity to go whale watching again...so we took it...dolphins followed us out...probably about 20 gray whale sightings...you really can't get a picture because the whale spray & their surfacing happens so fast...our guide was extremely knowledgeable & kept us well informed...the total trip was 2 1/2 hrs...after 1 1/2 hrs we... Upon disembarking, we were bombarded by tourists wanting to know if we saw whales. Yes, quite a few humpback and gray whales, dolphins and sea lions. The biologist was knowledgeable and the crew was helpful and friendly. We didn't see whales like the professional photographs in the gallery, but there were so many that we caught glimpses of whales blowing,... More

As locals we have used every whale watching company on the wharf. And that's what brings me to this review of princess whale watching.... This is the one that we always come back to! The guides are so informative and enthusiastic about what they're doing. They really care about taking care of the ocean creatures as well as their guest... More

We struck gold with this tour. I give credit to a good company, a good crew and good luck. We had smooth seas and an abundance of whales and sea lions. The boat is nice. They offer access to the upper level for a $20 upgrade. We didn't see the benefit in it but if you were taking pictures you... More

Very nice staff and boat, and the views are beautiful. We saw plenty of gray whales swimming, blowing and their flukes.

Decided to stay an extra day in Monterey to take a whale watching trip. The Princess tours was highly recommended and the price was reasonable. The boat was clean, comfortable and seaworthy. The crew was courteous, effeicent and knowledgeable. Sea conditions and weather were perfect so it was a very enjoyable trip. We got our moneys worth, saw several grey... More

We booked a morning whale watching tour, and my husband and I had a great time. The guide was full of life, and that made our trip more enjoyable. We came pretty close to the whales, but I was hoping to see more. We didn't see any dolphins! I would recommend spending the extra money for a deck view, it... More

We went out on Monday between Christmas and New Year's Day. Lots of people, more than a similar cruise in Hawaii. Sometimes hard to get a spot on the rail to photograph. Friendly crew. We had seen whales from the shore on the day before, so we knew we'd see some. Eight grey whales, two humpbacks and about 200 dolphins... More
