The most important decision is not whether to go or not but what time of the year in order to catch the migration as well as their local residents of seals and sea otters.go to the pier at Monterey harbour and collect your boarding passes by booking first through their credit agency Zerve. Get there at least i hour before... More

We were able to see several whales, most at a distance but one fairly close. We also went right through a pod of hundreds of dolphins which was amazing. However, if the seas are rough, there is a fair chance you'll get seasick as half the folks on our boat did. Take your Dramamine!

After a slow start - that's nature, we had a really enjoyable morning on board. We've done this before ,at Dana point, this trip we had a fantastic display from a huge pod of dolphins. We also saw grey whales too. The crew are alert and informative. It took a while to spot them and we didn't get very close,... More

We went on the Princess for the first morning tour. Great boat - very large and we paid extra $20 per person to sit up the top for a better view. Not overcrowed. Well worth it. Crew were very friendly and experienced. Leisurely journey out and we were lucky enough to see several grey whales flicking their tails up (in... More

The biologist on board was fun and engaging. She shared plenty of information, and the team did an incredible job of finding the marine life. In the few hours we were out, we saw a humpback whale, a huge pod of common dolphins which were an absolute joy, and a pod of grey whales. It was cold, but very worth... More

We went on the first boat of the morning and it wasn't too busy. You obviously aren't guaranteed to see whales however we were lucky enough to see a group of whales feeding, some dolphins, sea lions, sea otters and a variety of birds. The narrator was great and we had an amazing experience.

Yes, seeing the whales is an awesome experience, however, this boat was so over crowded that people were pushing trying to get to the side rails to see out, it was uncomfortable! ( the boat I went on was closed on the top... the boat also spent over 90% of the time looking for whales & maybe 10% sightings of... More

First Time Seeing Hump Back Whales, Awesome! We have tried whale watching all over the place and this is first time we have actually seen whales. We also got some great photographs. Excellent ship, great crew and excellent narrator.

Amazing, can definitely recommend this, not too busy so plenty of room to walk about the boat, we saw 12 Hump Back whales and over 200 dolphins. Amazing a worth the money.
