We struck gold with this tour. I give credit to a good company, a good crew and good luck. We had smooth seas and an abundance of whales and sea lions. The boat is nice. They offer access to the upper level for a $20 upgrade. We didn't see the benefit in it but if you were taking pictures you... More

Very nice staff and boat, and the views are beautiful. We saw plenty of gray whales swimming, blowing and their flukes.

Decided to stay an extra day in Monterey to take a whale watching trip. The Princess tours was highly recommended and the price was reasonable. The boat was clean, comfortable and seaworthy. The crew was courteous, effeicent and knowledgeable. Sea conditions and weather were perfect so it was a very enjoyable trip. We got our moneys worth, saw several grey... More

We booked a morning whale watching tour, and my husband and I had a great time. The guide was full of life, and that made our trip more enjoyable. We came pretty close to the whales, but I was hoping to see more. We didn't see any dolphins! I would recommend spending the extra money for a deck view, it... More

We went out on Monday between Christmas and New Year's Day. Lots of people, more than a similar cruise in Hawaii. Sometimes hard to get a spot on the rail to photograph. Friendly crew. We had seen whales from the shore on the day before, so we knew we'd see some. Eight grey whales, two humpbacks and about 200 dolphins... More

We did a morning whale-watching tour and it was awesome. We saw humpbacks, killer whales, birds, sea lions and otters. The guide was very knowledgeable and the captain knew where to look for the whales. The humpbacks swam towards the boat at one stage and under it and we were so close to the whales. We could hear them breathing... More

We booked our tour ahead of time which saved time in the morning. The boat was very large and far more spacious than expected. The staff were attentive and helpful. We saw many pods of humpback whales and seals which we watched feed for about an hour. Many opportunities for pictures. Advice: wear extremely warm clothing. Take non drowsy gravol... More

went out on 7th Nov. blue sky day, light wind but a good 5 foot swell out wide, staff rated this as "calm" for that part of the ocean and season, warning if you suffer from sea sickness. this big boat is probably the most sea sickness friendly. saw a pacific sunfish on the way out and sea lions, had... Spent 48 years adoring this amazing mammal, championing Greenpeace back in the 80's and here was my chance to see the hump back in its natural habitat - cannot wait a trip of a lifetime!! Unfortunately one of my three teenage children, decided 15 minutes out of harbour to suffer acute motion sickness. I spent three long hours rubbing her... More
