This season there are over 300 whales in the bay so very easy to spot. Also saw some amazing feats by lots of porpoises. Got some great shots. Recommend going first ride out at 9am to avoid rougher waters.

It took a while to find the whales, but once we did , they were everywhere you looked. At least on our tour a naturalist was on board explaining all about the whales and sea life. She was terrific!! All ages were on this trip and everyone loved it. It was a 3 hour tour

I'm really glad that my friends and I took this morning trip. We had booked the afternoon boat the previous day, but an e-mail from Princess Monterey warned of possible rough waters in the afternoon. There were still some swells (maybe 3-4 feet maximum?) the next morning, but we took dramamine and none of us got sick. I didn't see... More

Have been to Monterey Bay many times, but we had a perfect sunny, calm day for whale watching. I thought this business had the best looking large boats with upper decks, so we booked an afternoon trip. The only disappointment was upon check-in, we were told that we could "upgrade" to the top deck for an additional $20. Considering we... More

Before leaving for our holiday I did some research on Whale watching trips and this one seemed to be the most recommended and using the daily updates they provide on their website were successful in spotting whales pretty much each day. Finding this company on the pier was really easy and I booked my morning ticket the afternoon before. The... More

Our guide let us know at the begining of our boat ride that we were in for an epic trip and she was right! There were about 20 hump back whales along with dolphins and hundreds of sea lions! They were very good at pointing out the different types of marine life and getting us to the best spot to... More

We went in March and although it took a while to get out to sea, we saw a lot of dolphins, whales, seals, sea otters. It was amazing. Be prepared for a long haul, sea sickness, and bundle up, but it's worth it. My husband and I both took the pills, but we saw a lot of people getting sick... More

This was a good experience. The guide was very knowledgable and offered a great distraction for the one hour ride to the nearest whale pod. We did see over a dozen humpback whales. The mama and calf were especially nice. The sea lions were playful and wouldn't leave the calf alone. Mama didn't seem to appreciate the fun and would... More

This is really a first class operation! We booked online and it was very easy. $45 per person. We wanted to go on their other boat that has an upper deck ($20 more-first come, first serve), but that one was being maintenanced for the tourist season. No matter. The Princess was quite nice as were the hands on deck. The... More

Well worth doing. Saw both Hump Back and Blue Whales on this trip, they came very close to the boat and it was an amazing sight. Take a coat as it gets very cold, the boat goes out about 10 miles.
