The original design might have been a great educational and entertainment concept but it gets lost in the present day's moldy, funky smelling, cheesy, somewhat creepy, ill maintained, basement dungeon display. It would be worth the $8 only for the history lesson IF the audio quality was not so bad that we needed to stretch our ears to understand every...

As my mother would say "lighten up.". We make sure to go through once every trip to Monterey. It's worth a good laugh, and can be a fun time as long as you're not expecting anything grand. We've been going to it long enough to be able to point out what has been changed and updated from year to year...

Sorry but this place just screams tourist trap. It's kind of in the basement and seems to have been an after thought. It's very loud and cheesy IMO.

I have been to Monterey several times and have seen the wax museum advertised. On this date, a big haired young kid sucked us in and charged us senior citizen rates which was way too much! I wanted to learn about a Monterey and John Steinbeck, but I learned about i dont know what. Dont waste your money! They have...

I can honestly say that this was one of the worse exhibts that I have ever been to in my ENTIRE LIFE! The "wax" people looked more like mannequins from the 1970's and the whole show was disorganized and chaotic. I felt like I went there and paid $10 to be CONFUSED! Scenes were overlapping and this god awful skeleton...

When my friend and I wandered inside, we paid around ten dollars a person. The cashier refused any kind of discount whatsoever -- no AAA Club, no student card, no senior discount -- nothing.
In walking through, you have to stay on a path with a sign warning that if you jump the fence then an alarm will sound. Gee,...

This attraction really could use a good cleaning and re-vamping. The guy at the ticket window was nice, however....it is on the bottom level of a shopping center and feels a bit claustrophobic. During the walk-through, the audio from one scene often clashes with the audio from the scene of the group ahead of you, making it difficult to hear...

If you like kitsch, ("so bad it's great"), you are gonna LOVE this "wax" museum. The figures look like store mannequins from a Macy's Men's Store circa 1975. The scenes are so un-PC that you have to just laugh. Warning: once you start laughing you will not be able to breathe for the hyulks jus' keep on comin'. Price: All...
