Ventana is a great wine experience. The location of the tasting room in Monterey is close to a few great restaurants and on the way out to Carmel Valley from Monterey. The wine is excellent. I came to Ventana Vineyards as part of the Monterey Wine Trolley Tour, so I don't know if they give the same treatment to people not on a tour, but I had a great experience here. Before dining at Tarpeys, we did a little wine tasting at Ventana Vineyards. The tasting is complimentary and there are many wines from which to choose from. My favorites were the Pinot Noir, the Sauvignon Blanc, Greanace and the Chardonnay.
