Tour at Elkhorn slough

We had a fabulous time; we saw lots of cool critters, including otters, seals, sand dollars, terms, pelicans and other birds, starfish and a seahare.

Great tour with our guide Cam and then we were allowed to take the kayaks back out on the bay by ourselves at no additional charge. Saw lots of harbour seals, otters and even an enormous sea slug (my daughter's favorite). Definitely recommend if you want a kayak tour.

We rented kayaks with three teenagers and did some exploring on our own in the Elkhorn Slough. You drive right to the Slough to rent. They provide everything from wetsuit to jacket for wind all depending on the weather. We went on a Monday late morning and were the only people in sight for the 2 1/2 hours we were... More

We rented kayaks at the Slough location in Moss Landing. A great place for a relaxing kayak tour. the current going back is tough though! But worth it!

We've rented kayaks from this place a couple of times. Wetsuits, lifejackets, paddles and paddling jackets are also required and available. They give you some basic paddling instructions, and you are off to enjoy Monterey Bay and the sea lions and scenery. If you are lucky you might see some otters in the kelp beds, but keep your distance so... More

We recently took the Eikhorn Slough 2.5 hour kayaking excursion. The guides were knowledgeable, patient and fun. Lots of wildlife and a good pace. It's a short drive outside of the Monterey area but worth it.

Only thing to really mention is regarding the conditions. You'll mostly likely be paddling out to the Aquarium and back. On a gray or cloudy day it is hard to see things below the water. On a sunny clear day the colors below the water really come alive.

just the right amount of adventure for an amateur kayaker and her kid. we paddled by otters and seals, and learned about the marine biology of the area.

It is really nice to kayak in Monterey bay. Looking back I wish we rented a kayak for ourseleves, rather than taking the tour. A lot of time is taken up by rafting (holding the kayaks still at a particular time to tell something about the wildlife), which for us was just a little too much. Maybe it was because... More

Arrived at the Slough destination, checked in and got suited up with wetsuits. Wetsuits were in great condition. Bring a pair of shoes that can get wet. If you don't have some, they offer shoes at a very reasonable price in the shop. Went out to the kayaks and George got us all situated. Out on the water we saw,... More
