We took our three elementary aged sons on a kayak trip with this company. Aside from getting a great work out (we each at least one child in our kayak) we got to see tons of sea life up close. It was fun and worth the expense!

For $30, for an entire day (if you want/can!), you too can cruise quietly through the Bay as you observe some of the most amazing wildlife the region has to offer: mother and baby seals, sea lions and otters, countless waterfowl and even the incredible starfish hanging onto the pier pilings were all simply stunning! We took my parents, who...

Kayaked in the Elkhorn Slough passed many seals with pups, sea lions with babies as well as otters. Huge number of sea birds. Staff at the kayak company were helpful. The slough is a great place for novice kayakers to see a lot of marine life in a fairly sheltered environment.

I "surfed the tide" at Elkhorn Slough with this company today. Although I am a reasonably competent kayaker, I found myself in a double kayak with Matt, our guide, who dealt with all the difficult direction stuff!

You have to reserve space ahead of time (like, as in a week or two before you go during the busy season, or even longer)---
They will equip you with everything you need as...

I went to the store at Elkhorn Slough (I have rented in the city of Monterey before, and had an equally good experience). We did not make reservations.
Monterey Bay Kayaks (MBK) provided everything we needed except water shoes, which we bought from them. They supplied kayaks, paddles, wet suites, jackets and vests. We brought along some water and food....
