We did the Elkhorn Slough. Our guide, Kamyar, was very friendly and knowledgeable. We saw live sanddollars, otters with pups, pelicans, seals, cormorants, and terns. Really impressive and beautiful. We got some great pics and it was very memorable...really rhe highlight of our stay in Monterey. Know that you need your own car to drive to this site. I don't... More

We rented kayaks and in a very short time were in the midst of (maybe) hundreds of sea lions and many, many otters. There is a distance legally specified by the Feds. We did not violate it out of respect for the animals. The marine life is habituated to humans in boats - not the least bit perturbed or afraid... More

We really enjoyed our tour. We wrestled with Monterey Bay or the Elkhorn Slough, and I am so glad we chose the later. We got to see so much wildlife up close and very personal (as in jumping on your kayak). The guides are great and very concerned about conservation and safety. We felt well cared for. My only con... This was such a family outing. The instructors were very charming and fun and knowledgeable and made everyone feel comfortable and confident regardless of their level of skill. Great at keeping the group together and giving good instructions on kayaking. Everything about it was just as it side on the website and in phone calls. No surprises.

My son and I visited Monterey in June 2015. We chose to depart from Elkhorn Slough with Monterey Bay Kayaks. We couldn't have been happier with the experience. We try to kayak everywhere we travel and this was leaps and bounds above other experiences. George was our guide and I don't have enough good things to say about him. He... More

Went there with a local friend. Good selection of boats, clear instructions and ideally located. After selecting the boats we headed to the dressing rooms and fitted the wetsuits. Then it's off into the water to spot sea otters, sea lions and seals.

Located right on the beach for easy access to the water. Kayak rentals and SUP rentals, fair rates. Bathrooms, but no showers, but water available to rinse your gear. Any questions, go into the shop and ask for Holokai!

My mother and I had an awesome time kayaking together on the two and half hour tour. We were able to see so much sea life (sea lions, seals, sea otters, jellyfish, crabs, and more)! Our tour guide was extremely knowledgable about all the sea life and kelp. He even dove down to show us a decorator crab and sea... More

We tried Monterey Bay Kayaks for the first time, since the other kayak company in Elkhorn Slough had rented out all their kayaks. We rented single sit-ins that were in great condition. The staff was very friendly, prompt, and well-informed. Elkhorn Slough was a great paddle--lots of otters to see, some seals, and many birds on our non-strenuous 2 hour... More

Really great trip. We got to see seals, sea otters, and sea lions and lots of birds in just the one hour tour. It was very easy, even for beginners. Our guide Mason was great and gave lots of information about the area. They have life jackets, wet suits, and jackets all included. Definitely recommend.
