We rented full-day kayaks and bikes at $50 per person, which I think is very reasonable. The equipment was in good condition and they told us what we needed to know to use the kayaks and bikes. The kayaking was fantastic at the 299 Cannery Row location - we saw tons of sea lions and otters. You legally can't approach... More

Our guide, Jan, took just two of us on the bike path along the coastline past Fisherman's Wharf, Cannery Row and up to Pacific Grove. We rode back to the bike shop which was located quite conveniently beside the Portola Hotel during Car Week in Monterey. We were able to keep our bikes for the whole day if we desired.... More

Paddling a kayak around Monterey Bay is something I have been wanting to do for a long time. I decided to do it on this visit while my girlfriend went shopping in Cannery Row. I checked in at the Cannery store location at 9am, put on a pair of "dry pants", grabbed a paddle and was off to the launch... More

Kayaking along Monterey and Pacific Grove is a must for us. The kayaks are totally stable and you are outfitted with all the gear you need for $30 per day. My wife and I like the 2 person kayak. There is nothing like being at water level with the motion of the swells and being in the midst of sea... More

Great kayak tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and history of Monterey, so we got a lot more out of it than if we'd just rented equipment. We saw seals, sea lions, otters, a crab (out on the kelp bed) and a variety of birds. One otter kept trying to climb up onto our guide's boat! The... More

Kayaking on Monterey Bay was by far the best part of our Northern California trip. There were seals everywhere. And otters. It was unbelievable. It was also exciting to bike ride, by the same company, 'land and sea' package. Must move to Monterey.

First, I must admit that I'm a bike snob. The bikes that I witnessed were all in need of care. Please, ADV by the Sea, at least clean and lube the drivetrains on a regular basis. Include a flat repair kit. Replace the bar bags now and then. Awesome locations to pick-up from and super cool folks to work with!

We rented bicycles and kayaks here. Rode 1/2 of the 17 mile drive and then came back and paddled around and hung out with the sea otters. What a great experience. The people at adventures by the sea were a little frazzled on a busy summer weekend, but they stayed efficient and professional and the prices are very fair. Go... More

Made a reservation beforehand and picked up our kayaks at the Pacific Grove location. Saw countless seals, several whales, and other wildlife along the coast. Cost was reasonable. Would recommend.

Stopped by to rent kayaks for the day. Wife and I were first timers and the staff reviewed everything thoroughly and efficiently. Shoved off at a little beach near the Monterey Plaza, and enjoyed about 3.5 hours of relaxing fun. Abundant sea life and lots of curious visits by otters and seals. Whales were cruising by and we were in... More
