Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary is one of the 14 National Marine Sanctuaries in the United States. It includes the entire bay and a considerable distance north and south. It seems a shame to go to Monterey Bay and not get out on the water. On a two-hour kayaking trip in January with Adventures by the Sea, I was able... More

We've been traveling to Monterey for years and even own our own Kayaks but have never ventured into the Monterey Bay. It was a cloudy/rainy day in December but we still had the best time! We saw Otters, Sea Lions and even a whale. It was calm as can be. Our family of 6 had a great morning. Some of... More

First off this area is gorgeous to kayak, so much wild life to see, birds, sea lions, ( & possibly a whale in the distance!) however there are some things you should know! The area where you get in & out of is off the Ocean, & the waves breaking here don't look that big, but can easily change! Getting... More

We were in town on a corporate retreat, and used Adventures by the Sea for transport and activities. What a great team they have! Bus driver Ben shuttled us around for several days, and was an absolute delight! We made lots of changes on the fly, and he just rolled with it (even making suggestions). Ann joined us for a... When we walked in the store, an employee (I think manager) was talking with the owner on the phone. He continued to talk to his boss while serving us (plain rude) and didn't take time to ask if we had questions or stop to answer us when we asked if we could change bike helmets. They didn't check to make... More

Hands down the best way to spend your time while in Monterey! Jordan and Brandon were so helpful and fun! I would recommend any tour with one of these two. Super friendly and outgoing, like having your friends taking you out. We rented Pedego electric bikes for the afternoon and biked the 17 mile drive and had lunch at Pebble... More

On Oct 5, my wife and I rented a tandem kayak from their Breakwater Cove, Monterey Harbor location. We went to the shop the day before and met James. He went over the cost ($30/person for entire day single or tandem kayak) which included splash gear, life jackets, and dry bag. He said we could leave our towels/extra clothes, etc.... More

Friendly helpful staff launched me on a solo outing...a clear, warm morning September 25th. They provide splash jacket and pants along with the required equipment... Hard to keep the respectful 50 feet away from the fuzzy faced otters -- in an hour I saw over 20 of them in the kelp beds feeding away. Seals, Dolphins and seabirds. Easy beach... More

My 12 year old daughter and I rented a tandem kayak here the second day we were visiting here when it was still a bit too cloudy and cold for the beach. We got some great photos of sea creatures and scenery. Scary but fun. Another day we rented a tandem bike a biked up toPoint Pinos Lighthouse and back... More

We rent a tandem bicycle there. The staff is super friendly. He let us try the bike outside the shop and make sure we feel comfortable. In addition, He gave us great recommendation where to go and what to check it out. Great place to rent a bike and cruise along the coast~ What a fun way to explore the... More
