Old Monterey's farmers market is held Tuesday, late afternoon. There are a few produce stands but they are greatly outnumbered by people selling scarves, hats, jewelry, etc. There are food vendors. It can all easily be perused in 30 minutes. By all means, drop by if staying nearby but there isn't much to it. (If San Luis Obispo's Farmers Market... More

We arrived o Monterey 3 weeks ago and we re here to improve our English with a culture program. When we were there we thought that this place looks like our country, Colombia. Here they close two streets once par week in Monterey and the farmers bring their produce and they give many free samples of their products. We could... More

It has been 4 days since we came to California as international students from Korea, and we went to Farmer’s Market at 4 pm and looked around the market for about 35 minutes. We were unable to see all of the goods because of limited time, but there were some interesting foods. I saw cilantro and artichokes for the first... More

We went to Former's market at 4 p.m and looked around the market for about 35 minutes. We were unable to see all of the goods because of time, but there are some interesting foods. I saw cilanto and artichokes first time during my life, and artichokes looked like lotus. Cilantro smelld like herb, and i wanted to know how... More

This is one of my most favorite farmers markets. Nice handmade jewelry and delicious fruits and foods to eat! Munch on fresh kettle corn while you people watch up and down the streets. This year however was one of the more sparse years...less sampling of some of the fruits and a lot less flowers for sale. Sad..no rain no gain.... More

A friend of mine who grew up in the area told me about the Old Monterey Farmers Market and how we simply had to check it out. I'm glad we did. It was our last night in Monterey after a wonderful stay, and it was a pleasant way to end the vacation. Parking was tricky. I'd suggest getting there as... More

Great choices, decent prices. My sister and I had a lot of fun trying different fruits and vegetables and making our selections. We ended up buying more than we thought we would end paying a little more than we thought we would, but the experience was well worth it.

Yesterday, we attended the Old Monterey Farmer's Market (Tuesdays from 4PM to 8PM) and had the best time! We were extremely impressed with the overall offerings: hand-made jewelry and vintage clothes; beautiful alpaca sweaters and hand-crafted wooden objects; flavored olive oils and balsamic vinegars; and some of the most lush and delicious produce we have ever seen! The strawberries were... More

We go to farmer's markets wherever we travel. This one was excellent. Lots of fresh produce, incredible strawberries, cherries, and local lettuce. There were several street food vendors - we tried the Indian Food booth - awesome. If you are lucky enough to be in Monterey on a Tuesday afternoon, don't miss it.

We were pleasantly surprised to find this little market on our quick stop into Monterey. We just wanted a quick snack before continuing down route 1. We wound up staying longer than expected. They had so many good foods to try along with a free wine tasting. We had just come from Napa Valley where all the samplings were expensive... More
