This fabulous bit of Americana keeps me structuring my trips through Monterey around it. From produce to crafts, there is something for everyone. A local man wheels his exotic birds to the site encouraging anyone willing to hold them. The array of ethnic prepared foods are a delight, and the over all spirit of the event stays with you as... This is a great market located among restaurants if you don 't get your fill of food while strolling. Locals stand in line for the roasted chicken and ribs offered at the far end of the market. Others love the Indian fry bread, but I tried the watermelon & lime juice. Delicious. The strawberries are beautiful, white nectarines are sweet,... More

We've been to Monterey many times, but this was the first time exploring Old Monterey on a Tuesday afternoon. Great Farmers Market with fresh veggies and produce, gourmet desserts, handcrafted items, and lots of other stuff! Nice set up on the streets and side streets. Will make it a point to visit again on Tuesdays!

I can't believe I never wrote this up before. We try to make sure that a trip to the Monterey Peninsula involves a Tuesday just to come to this farmers' market (we come to M. 1X or 2X/yr). Crafts and cooked food vendors as well but the main event is the farmers. It's fun and a large number of folks... More

Out of town visiting Monterey area for business, I just got settled in for the evening and decided to go for a drive when I stumbled upon this lovely Farmer's Market. I had no idea it was even going on. So I pulled over to go for a stroll in the cool evening air. I enjoyed freshly made falafel as... More

We stopped in Monterey for lunch during a road trip down the coast. When we finished eating, we walked out of the restaurant and they had shut the street down for the farmer's market. So many vendors had free samples of fruit, and many claimed that they had been picked less than an hour ago. We tried some of the... More

I would definitely recommend this for all travelers. Good, fresh fruits and veg. Some Cooked food too. There is an Indian stall in the end, across the pinkberry. they serve some good spicy food. If not buy you can try samples at all stalls. I would happily buy directly from farmers and they can answer any questions. It's good for... More

Generally just a fun scene on Tuesdays-go for a few excellent baked goods, lots of fresh vegetables and fruit and some decent live music. The veggies and fruit can be a little on the pricy side, but certainly no worse than Whole Foods. If you poke around a little, there is some competition on pricing as well, and at least... More

Someone recommended this so I had to go. Food galore so you won't go away hungry. Fresh fruit and vegetables everywhere you look. Tried a few samples. I loved the pecans from Jeffrey's Best. He gave me a card and I'm ordering some online tonight. We had already eaten dinner so we didn't have room for much. Loved the music... More

I used to live in Monterey and loved going to the Farmers Market on Tuesdays and Thursdays downtown. I had the opportunity to go back and visit and it is just the same as I remember. Wonderful food, fresh fruit and vegetables and lots of vendors with local unique art and jewelry to choose from.
