It costs $9.25 to drive this road. It's absolutely worth it. You can plan on taking about 2 hours to drive the 17 miles because there are so many points along the way you'll want to stop and take photos or walk around. The scenery is spectacular, from beautiful pine forests to amazing coastline. The houses are also incredible. Several... more

Reality check. If you are driving a good part of the California coast, particularly any part of the central coast, this drive will add little to your experience. It is puzzling why so many guidebooks include this as virtually not to be missed. Most of the 17 miles are spent winding through residential areas. The "Lone Cyress"? Never has marketing... more

This drive was highly recommend by a close friend and I hate to say it, but I was extremely disappointed. I am not complaining about the almost $10 that you have to pay to get in but the quality of everything on the drive is just awful. The pamphlet that they give you when first entering boasts fantastic views of... more

Terrible. This is a con, where rich folk charge people to look at their houses. Seriously, charging people 10 bucks to drive that road has everything to do with keeping out the riff raff that won't drop 250 on a round of golf. It has nothing to do with the drive itself, which is basically the same as the rest... more

I'm not going to lie to you. Most of the 17 miles is nothing out of the ordinary. But you do get to see Pebble Beach and the Lone Cypress still sticks in the heads of my wife and I as a truly beautiful scene so I have to call the place a must see when in the area. more

We had driven up the California Coast before we took the 17-mile drive and had seen cypresses (on our beach walk in Cambria), beautiful coastline (including a nice walk at Point Lobos State Reserve where we saw seals, a sea otter and heard sea lions) and great vistas on Route 1. After all that, this drive doesn't add anything. You... more

Whilst staying in Monteray recently we did the 17 mile drive , my husband is a golfer and was keen to see the famous Pebble Beach course. We both really enjoyed the drive and followed and stopped at the points of interest. We stopped at the lodge and visited the 1st & 18th holes where my husband had his picture... more

Pay $9 and drive through a town, curvy roads, trees. Not worth it at all. We paid for it and after a few miles into it, we just looked for the quickest way out of it. We were glad we did. more

The drive isn't that expensive and we did enjoy it. The Lone Cypress is an icon we wanted to see. The guys were thrilled to stand at the 18th hole and putt vicariously through the golfers on the green. They also stood at the first tee and wistfully waited for us to tell them to go ahead and spend the... more
