We didn't do all 17 miles but as part of our bus trip to Monterey and Carmel we took in part of the 17 mile drive and visited the golf club at Pebble beach which is open to the public and we had the chance to see the trophy room and take pictures on the 18th green which made the... More

We hadn't planned to make this drive, but we're glad we did so. The views were great, with the vistas, golf courses, homes and lone Cypress. It's definitely worth the $10 entrance fee.

We enjoyed the drive the first time. This time we brought my son and his family. It's a great drive with beautiful vistas.

This is so beautiful, and there are so many gorgeous vistas that you just need to stop and take photo after photo. We saw otters, harbor seals, pelicans, and many other sea birds. The sky seemed to change a lot. We walked next to the bike lane -- looks like a splendid place to go cycling!

This is must-do if you are at the Monterey Peninsula. There are breathtaking views of the ocean, pristine golf courses, and massive/beautiful private estates. Lots of seals and sea birds to watch. Just a beautiful drive.

Loved this. So many photographic opportunities. Saw seals. The Lone Cypress - surrounding area is as stunning as this tree. Millionaires Row Golf Courses. Anyway walking around them where allowed was enjoyable too. What views, surely a distraction. Beautiful houses and so much diversity of architecture.

About 30 years ago, we took the 17 Mile Drive in the Monterey Peninsula and were quite impressed with the scenic beauty of the Pacific Ocean coast that form part of the drive. We returned there this past August and the untamed ocean's views are still there including the Lone Cypress standing on Stop #16. However, as progress and time... More

After driving up California Hwy 1 through Big Sur and then into Carmel, this was kind of a let-down. You have to pay to drive through some coast line and golf courses and neighborhoods with lots of dead trees. If you are Senior Citizens or someone who really enjoys Golf, this might be worth your time. If you want spectacular... More

Entered via an attended toll gate. The 17 mile drive is a loop along the shore, past some very nice residences and scenic points, which are clearly marked and there is ample parking and restrooms. We saw many, what we thought, were low flying turkey vultures, which were spectacular, plus we saw deer However the surrounding area is basically a... More

Enjoy driving on this trail with my girlfriend. Not just the ocean, but also the houses and trees along the road.
