If you're looking for great views, this legendary drive has it... but so does the drive through PG and Asilomar, not to mention Hwy 1 South to Point Lobos and Big Sur. If you're into seeing big homes, this has it... but so does exploring Carmel. If you're looking for Pebble Beach merchandise, this has it... but so does Cannery... more

We have just been on the 17 MILE DR this morning and it was very disappointing, that's a shame to ask almost 10$ for something without great interest, it's just nice... and you have the feeling to pay for watching rich people's houses. Landscapes on the Highway 1 are much better and free. Don't waste your time and your money.... more

Stayed in Monterey and this was one of the highlights. The drive was beautiful. Took our 12 & 14 yr. old girls. We got out a few times to see different things along the way. Pebble Beach is neat to stop at and look around at the club house and shops etc. more

I was sceptical about the $9.25 admission just to drive 17 miles...Boy was I wrong to doubt it. This is a private road with an excellent map provided for the Monterey peninsula. Many sites to see, the bay, sea lions and seals, birds, stunning homes. This is the Monterey I dreamed of seeing. A definate MUST DO when in the... more

You drive 6 1/2 miles into it before you even begin to see coastline. It's been overbuilt by houses - very nice houses but that's not what I was looking for. How disappointing. I can't believe they let this happen. Save your money and keep driving. We didn't make it that far but hopefully you'll see more nature along Big... more

I don't know what all of the fuss is. It cost $9 I think to go on the drive. And, if you eat in one of the restaurants you can get that taken off of your check. To see the amazing homes and the beautiful golf courses was a treat even to a non-golfer. The Lone Cypress was cool to... more

After reading the reviews on here I was a little skeptical about the advice I had received from my mom and my sister, but after viewing this for myself I found that the $8 or so dollars was well worth it. The coastline was absolutely breathtaking. You can stop and walk around. The day that we were there was pretty... more

All you have to do is tell the person at the gate you are going to eat at one of the restaurants or tell them you are going to one of the bars to have a drink. The names of them are: The Lodge @ Pebble Beach: stillwater bar & grill the tap room the terrace lounge the gallery (breakfast... more

Why on earth would anyone want to spend nearly $10 to drive around a rich peoples housing estate? The coast line is nothing spectacular. The trees and wildlife are nothing spectacular. There are a million better views along Route 1. There are a million better beaches along Route 1. There are far better wildlife viewing opportunities along Route 1. AND... more

We biked 17 mile drive while on vacation in Monterey. There were some amazing homes and the golf courses were impressive. Some of the ocean views were nice (Big Sur is more impressive) and Pebble Beach is a great place to stop for a picnic lunch. They have a market which serves up bread, cheese and assorted precooked meats and... more
