This was a lovely addition to our day - we spent a few hours driving around to each of the marked stops, took lots of photos and then stopped for a snack at the Pebble Beach golf course. It was well-worth the $10 and, while some of the stops are better than others, we really enjoyed ourselves. We saw lots... More

Allow plenty of time to enjoy all the Vista points along the route and time to walk some of the route and explore Carmel.

Been on this drive multiple times in my life but always enjoy it no matter what the weather or time of year or day. A different perspective on nature that is a special site to see.

If you enjoy a leisurely drive then this us the trip for you. The road winds its way through some spectacular wooded and seaside areas with plenty of places to stop and admire the views. We started at Monterey and this is definitely the most tranquil and spectacular part of the drive. For golf fans there are a few fantastic... More

Saw probably 6 whales, 20 dolphins, numerous sandy beaches and unbelievable mansions. Well worth the $10.

We enjoyed the drive and saw lots of wildlife...seals, dolphins and whales. There is a restroom/post office/small grocery near the end of the drive. The grocery is a little too high end for picnic needs however, so we went elsewhere. Some reviewers said that they don't allow motorcycles. Yes, that is lame, but I still recommend the drive.

Yes, the view is incredible. Yes, the homes are magnificent and yes, the traffic is very very slow! So my suggestion is bypass the "Drive" and take a stroll through Point Lobos instead....same view but more up close and personal....plus a great view of Pebble Beach! The hikes are very relaxed and there is not a line a cars in... More

Drove from the Pine Grove entrance in Monterey south to Carmel. Stunning coastal views and stunning multi-millionaire "homes" along the road. Plenty of placed to stop and get the perfect photo. We exited at Pebble Beach/Carmel and took the following route that I HIGHLY ADVISE. Take a right on Ocean Ave. and then a quick left onto Scenic Road (it's... More

The 17-Mile Drive is fundamentally a road that passes through an exclusive neighborhood. The drive along the coast is nevertheless beautiful - even if the weater is not completely sunny. It takes a while to do the entire round, but you can choose to enter from ‘Pacific Grove’ and exit from ‘Carmel’ to reduce total length to just over half... More

Worth the short trip. It's not 17 miles and it doesn't take long, depending on how many places you stop to take pictures. Some amazing views of the coast and some amazing homes along the way.
