this drive through the Majestic Del Monte Forest and along the Pacific Coast is magnificent . We did many stops to admire the nature, the view, the birds, the seals and the sea lions. We saw beautiful villas and I liked very much the Pebble Beach Resort with the golf course.

The roads twist and turn, and each turn is more beautiful than the other. Everyone stops at the appropriate turn-outs and you can walk some of the trails as well. There is a beautiful stop where you walk down the stairs on the side of the road, and go down until you come to the water falls. It is beautiful.

We were staying in Carmel for a month and went to all the tourist attractions including nearby national parks and state parks. 17-mile drive has some beautiful views and nice picnic areas but there are many places similar along the California Coast that are less expensive and less touristy. Our recommendation would be to skip it unless you are a... More

We drove the 17-mile drive coming up to sunset, so the already spectacular sights were enhanced further. Keep an eye out for deer along the way - they're not shy! Seal rock was fantastic, but smells so bad! The houses along the drive are out of this world. Overall, I would say that the drive was without a doubt worth... More

You will find a beautiful views, friendly squirrels and we could also see whales (their tails). I think everybody needs to visit once. But I am still in doubt if it is worth USD10.

Honestly, most of the drive was very average. There was a good stretch of about 4 miles (top) that was pretty around pebble beach but that was it. Drive the 1 (PCH) for free and you'll see something exceptional. Seriously!

It costs $10 to drive on a road just like all the other roads up and down the coast. It is pretty but the roads are narrow and not maintained. The lookouts are overgrown. Spend your time in other areas of the beautiful Californian coast.

We got very lucky with everything. The weather was perfect. We even got to see up to 30 whales migrating, then they decided to stop and eat right off the point from our view, totally awesome!!!! Especially when they breached.

You have to see it to believe it! Be prepared- the seal rock stop smells like the world's worst zoo!

Great scenic drive. If you want to hike, you will have the opportunity. Did not like the fee for driving on the road.
