Little overpriced. Surely these could be public roads? Lots of nice spots to pull in and take photos. The cypress trees, waves of the Pacific and greenery of the golf courses make a delightful backdrop though. Better to start at the Monterey end because the other end has the jaw dropping view of the white sands of Carmel. And it's best... More

there isn't 17 miles of coastal view, because the other 16 miles are just houses. The little ocean view you do get is amazing but not sure its worth the $10

If they are private, then you shouldn't let public in. The whole concept is just odd, I think! With that said, the views are exceptional. And you pass some glorious... More

The ocean on my right and the beautiful golf courses on my left. Waves crashing and deer grazing. It doesn't get much better!

Drove 17 Mile Drive on a windy and partly cloudy day. The views were fabulous! Stopped at the Pebble Beach Lodge for a delicious late lunch at Bench with outside seating by fire pits in the 18th hole. $10 fee from drive can be taken off of restaurant bill. Perfect day!

If you have never been along the coastline of California between Monterey and Carmel...do this! It encompasses all the beauty and stark ruggedness of the coastline in a short drive. Take the time to pull off at each of the various turn-outs and enjoy the scenes and shoreline. Words really don't give you the true sense of greatness that is... More
