Decent ride, but drive to Big Sur instead.

We drove the 17-mile drive and it had some nice views. The lone cypress tree was as expected, very cool. We thought the ride would be more crowded on Saturday afternoon, but it was pleasantly not. The overlooks were a bit crowded though. One reviewer said to give yourself 3 hours, but we did it in 1 hour. Then we... More

Very nice drive although polluted with tourists. Takes some time to get through the 17 miles. Would be nice to have public restroom en route.

Plan on spending 1/2 day. Plenty of places to pull in along the way with beautiful views. Seal Rock is a must-see! At the end of the route, stop and enjoy lunch at one of several restaurants overlooking the golf course and ocean.

This is a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours or longer seeing the wonderful coast line and wildlife. The guide map is easy to follow and quite a few of the stops are close together. We entered via 17mile drive in Monterey which seemed less crowded than the entrance via hw1. Take your camera for some stunning photo... More

Spend the time to do this. Gorgeous views leading into the quaint town of Carmel. A number of places to park plus the opportunity to enjoy the white sand and water.

I would say that the 17-mile drive was nothing too exquisite. It is a good drive and they have a few view points and landmark locations - but seemed like they just gave names to random areas/rocks. Good-drive but if you miss doing this in Monterey, you didn't miss much. The $10 entry fee is cash only.

Several people had told us to make sure we did this drive, there was nothing overly spectacular about it. They charge $10 for the pleasure of driving it. It was lovely to drive down into the Peble Beach Golf Club and get a look around it.

I absolutely love driving 17 Mile Drive. It's my second home. I was married on Spanish Bay in 2012. First of all, the scenery is to die for, then their is the world class golf including Spanish Bay, Spyglass, and Pebble Beach. Every August the car enthusiasts come from all over the world to participate in the Concours de' Elegance... More
