Preferred the portion of the drive where you find the old growth of large cypress trees and the "Lone Cypress". More large trees, beautiful homes and the drive is higher above the shoreline for nicer views of the water and rocks. Much of the drive is through the golf course with the links on one side of the road and... More

For $10 this is a pretty good drive, with lovely views and amazing properties, and I would do it again, probably. It's heavily trafficked, and well worth a go once, but we didn't stay for long, just drove through to see the real scenic route of Highway 1 between Monterey and Cambria.

I have not been on this drive for 20+ years, views from the lookouts are still are magnificent as ever with parking lots at scenic points, the Spanish bay, lone cypress, ponderosa point etc. Worth the price of gate admission ($10), which used to be higher i recalled.

We got bikes at the hotel and pedaled from Monterey. What a great way to experience the views! We pulled of into the lookouts and felt the ocean breeze on our faces. This is truly a beautiful and amazing stretch of the California Coast.

We enjoy 17 mile drive. Some of our favorite places to stop for scenery along the route are:: 1) The Restless Sea - This is a beautiful place to take photographs with its churning water and watching the wave action of the ocean. 2) Bird Rock - This is a fun place where we like to watch the many birds... We have enjoyed this drive many times in the past. But this trip we decided to bicycle. Wow! It is a great ride with only a few spots where traffic was a bit of a problem. My wife and I enjoyed it in a new way that again had us thrilled with an old trip for us. No matter how... More

I cannot believe how upset people are about the ten dollar fee. The roads are well maintained and the views spectacular. If you do not want to pay for that, just turn around and choose another route. We thought it was well spent.

This place totally rules!! Not only were the views amazing, but it is a great drive to check out Pebble Beach Golf Courses. Driving by the Mansions is always a plus
