More or less an hour out, an hour there, and an hour back. The boat crew were fantastic - the captain, the mate, and the marine biologist. They made sure all was OK and did a good job explaining boat safety and whales and what they were doing. They also pointed out sea otters and seals on the way out... More

What a unique experience. We saw hundreds of dolphins and dozens of humpback whales on our morning trip (I think it was July 21). Taking the family for a whale watch boat trip ate some of our travel budget, but it was worth absolutely every cent. This was an unforgettable experience and one of the highlights of our holiday.I cannot... More

I cannot put into words how very wonderful this experience was for me and my husband. We went on the morning trip and saw a whale within the first 5 minutes of leaving the dock. The marine biologist was so knowledgable and really gave us time to see the whales interact with one another. In total, we saw 17 humpback... More

Went on whale watching trip through Monterey Bay Whale Watch on July 23rd. Everyone was very knowledgeable and friendly. Boat wasn't too crowded and captain and crew did an excellent job ensuring that we saw whales. Very nice time in a beautiful part of the country!

Been on many whale watches around the world and Monterey is by far the best place to do it from, typically on these trips you will see a few humps out of the water and some blowing and that's about it. Here we saw pairs on humpbacks breaching, tail slaps and got some amazing photos, really great place to do... More

Took the 2pm trip on July 18th 2014. It took about an hour to get out to the deep trench where the whales like to hang. We may have been particularly fortunate but there were 6 large hump backs actively feeding with dozens of seals picking up the leftovers. Whales got close enough at times to see all details about... The round trip tour was about 4 hours. The official count of whales observed was 43. However, I think there were probably about 8-10 that were close (100-300 yards). The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The boat was clean and in good condition. We would do it again.

My wife and I had been to Monterey once before but did not have time for this cruise. We were dead set on seeing at least 1 whale this time, and chose, at the last minute, to take the evening sunset cruise with Monterey Bay Whale Watch. On our way out, we say a few whales blowing off in the... More

Before going on this trip, my wife was concerning whether there will be whales or not. As ad said - probability of success is 99,5%. And yes, we saw plenty of whales. Besides that there was dolphins, sea otters and sea lions - most of species that are usual for Manterey Bay. Please be aware that having sun protection is... More
