I've been whale watching four times in the past year in Southern California and Seattle and was so excited at the prospect of seeing humpbacks off Monterey. Every step of the way from booking to arrival to climbing on the boat the staff talked about seasickness. I was prepared by taking some seasick medicine and I didn't anticipate any problems.... More

Good value for money, good size boat (not too big, not too small, just right!) and really knowledgeable and helpful staff. This company is the one that hosts all the TV companies when they come to the bay, Nat geo, BBC etc. The Boss and all the guides are all qualified marine biologists and have a great set up. We... I tried whale watching in San Francisco last year, and it just doesn't compare with watching whales in Monterey, the weather and the water are so different (it's definitely more gentle down by Monterey). But what really makes a difference is the crew. The Monterey Bay Whale Watch crew was awesome, the naturalist had an unfeigned enthusiasm about being out... More

Saw humbacks close enough to see their blowholes several times. Wonderful experience. Naturalist was excellent! Would not hesitate to recommend this company based on our excellent experience. More

Our tour guide was a naturalist with National Geographic. Great information and attitudes abound with the crew. Our watch was so spectacular, two hump back whales played around our boat, literally 5 feet away, for 20 minutes or so, frolicking and sounding. Absolutely beautiful to be that close to such magnificent, enormous whales. Also saw 80 or so dolphins of... More

I have wanted to go whale watching for years! My son & his girlfriend invited me to go with them on a sunny morning. The weather was perfect & so was the trip. There were dolphins galore! Then further out the whales :) Two whales dived & both their tails came up at the same time. My son got alot... More

I bought a Groupon or Dealgrind for this attraction literally minutes before heading out on the ship. Normally $38, it was $19 for the 3 hour whale watching tour. On the cruise, we saw 3 gray whales and about 300 dolphins. I was more impressed with the dolphins who swam in a massive pod around our boat. Totally surreal. The... More

While in Monterey we decided to take the 3-hour Whale Watching excursion. One individual in our party was reluctant because of the possibility of sea-sickness. We loaded her up with meds and went. She never regretted it! The boat departed right on time and there was plenty to see right from the start. Sea Otters play amongst moored boats and... More

The office gal and the boat crew and narrating naturalist couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and knowegable. We saw lots of gray whales inclucidng a rare "mega or super pod" of between 8 and 11 whales. We also found a pod of Rizzo dolphins, a species I had never heard of much less seen. A great time and good... More

The youthfulness, enthusiasm, and credentials make this the best choice out of the ample ones there. There were two competing company boats out there with ours but they essentially were following us - we got the closest views. I highly recommend these folks. More
