Not much to write about other than the locals come here to fish and you can chat with a few of them if you are sociable enough. It is crowded and there are a few small Mexican restaurants and a pub called the London Bridge. Did not eat here so I could not give a review of the food.

It was great walking on the Wharf. Most of the restaurants give out free samples of Clam Chowder to entice you to come in and eat more. We will definitely come back on our next visit.

The view is great, it's fun to watch the kayaker etc. we didn't eat here so I can't speak to that, but if you have kids there's plenty of touristy shops with an incredible amount of souvenirs both sea oriented and not. Take a walk and then move on - if you're an adult you might like the Monterey customs... More

Whether your goal is a nice lunch in an ocean view restaurant, filling up for free on the chowder samples, or staring at the abundant wildlife, this is the place. You can take a boat tour, go fishing, stare at the sea lions, or laugh at the otters stealing a person's kayak; all happen here. Free admission, multiple candy stores,... More

More restaurants than gift shops. Observation deck. Great views of the bay. Great views of sailboats. Plenty of places to choose a whale-watching excursion if that's something you're interested in.

Monterey Wharf is beautiful. Lots of little shops and places to grab a snack or a nice meal. Fishing trips are available as well as whale watching excursions.

This place was great. All the restaurants make really good chowders. The allow free tastings. They also offer oysters from all over North America at a reasonable price. Great scenery too!!!

We stopped at Old Fisherman's Wharf to look at the beautiful boats and to take a walk along the pier. It was well worth our time. As we walked along the pier we were greeted by each restaurant and invited to sample their unique chowder. We learned a lot about the different menus and the different styles of chowder made... If you have to walk up one side of the Wharf and down the other, listen to the staff yelling about the 'best chowder' and 'great views' then walk off the wharf and go to one of the many really good restaurants around the area - it is like a carnival out there, spend your time elsewhere.
