Wonderful place that could still be in days gone by, in a good way! Book a place if you want to eat, can get busy. Or grab a picnic, sit on the beach and watch for whales.

There are shops and restaurants on the wharf. It's a nice way to spend a couple of hours. Eat somewhere overlooking the water and you can watch the seals and Sea Lions around the bay.

A fun place to shop during the day and interesting location as the sun starts to set. The restaurant owners are pushing to get customers inside by providing free samples of clam chowder. This is a great idea if it's what you want to eat, so you can find the restaurant that makes it to your taste. Otherwise, it's kinda... More

What a delightful atmosphere, cozy, large booths, overlooking the water. The menu gave plenty to choose from. I was out of town and away from family but one of my daughters friends is at the Monterey Naval Post Graduate School so we shared Father's Day. I had the Halibut and naturally we both had some Clam Chowder. This was an... More

Not as big as the one in SF but much better atmosphere. Anywhere on the pier has yummy clam chowder. At the end of the pier is a great observation deck. You can sit and relax and watch the boats, or take a whale watching tour almost always guarenteed to see whales.

Stroll the boardwalk and check out the interesting displays of sea food available for you at the many restaurants. Enjoy one of the many offered whale watching tours. And take a few minutes to shop for nautical and tourist items. Recommended for a relaxed visit.

Plenty of tourist shops and souvenirs as usually found on a pier. However... there are lots of otters to be seen which I would give ten stars for. I heard of watching them from cannery row but didn't see any until we walked the pier and there were a number of otters playing and eating on the far right hand... More

There is such a cute little pier to walk on and see the local fisherman out there catching fish. Good spot to take photos of the beach and see the fish swimming down below.

Always nice to walk out on the pier and check out the views. The pier is bustling and loaded with a beachfront standard array of touristy shops and eateries.

Just like any other fisherman wharf: a couple of eateries handing out samples of clam chowder and a taffy store.
