This place has the best seafood dinner I ever had. You may also walk around and find the restaurant that is more affordable, because there are many restaurants to choose from, and it has some free soup samples with some of those restaurants by the entrance. I highly recommend this place to anyone who can't decide what they want for... More

It's the same thing everywhere. Restaurants compete for your business with aggressive deals. Not really a must unless you want some good seafood. Most shops are full of junk.

Lots of businesses have closed but still quite a few restaurants, some good, some not so good. No reason to go here except maybe to eat or shop for souvenirs.

We really enjoyed walking around the wharf to see all the souvenir shops and sample different offerings from different restaurant. We spent about 2 hours on the wharf including having lunch. We went during the afternoon so it was warm. At the end of the wharf we were able to see seals sunning them selves. I recommend bringing a light... More

This is just a strip of overpriced restaurants and cheap gift shops. Don't waste your time. Better views can be had elsewhere.

Was really looking forward to walking around and looking at the sites. However, felt like we had to watch our backs and be on guard, very uncomfortable. On our way back to our car my husband said "hurry up and get in and lock the doors" I laughed at first thinking was a joke. No joke. Two men were shadowing... More

This is a great area of Monterey to visit, see the seals, have a bite to eat, have a very pleasant walk and soak up the atmosphere. Less frantic than San Fran and will be revisiting with more days next time. Recommended. Didn't get to the aquarium but told it is one of the best in the world.

there are several restaurants and food places along the wharf, a few souvenir shops, t shirt shops, and two candy stores...I liked the taffy in one of the candy stores, great tasting and not hard on the pocketbook. we dined at Rappa`s Seafood at the end of the wharf, very good food and great service too, and beautiful views out... Nice area to do walking and biking, enjoyed seeing the seals. Parking is expensive, so plan on spending some time there to make it worth it. People were friendly, area was clean. There were benches and tables to sit at.

I'll start with parking because it was tricky to park in the correct parking lot. We tried parking on the sign of "Old Fisherman's wharf".. well that's not it. You have to drive 50 yards more and then you'll get to the right parking lot (it has ticket machines). If you end up in the tunnel, you just passed it.... More
