Our first day was cold and windy but the next day made up for it with stunning blue sky, beautiful beaches and ocean surf 20-30 feet high! More

this park is stunning it contains all different types of environment from lush forrests and canyon like southwest parks, the trail i took to get to the top of the look out point is not for a easy walk, its very steep and takes around 2.5 hours, there is a easier path if you take a left at the entrance More

Garrapata beach is a well kept secret. While most people continue their way into the Big Sur most famous attractions, they overlook this gem. In fact, we spent the day in Garrapata only because Pfeiffer beach was so full on the 3rd of July that we were not allowed to drive down to the parking lot. We made a U-turn... More

For us, going to the beach usually means Carmel - rarely do we head any further South. However, recently we discovered Garrapata Beach, located in Garrapata State Park which is about eight miles South of Carmel, and have found it to be a fabulous and much less crowded alternative to Carmel's beach. Garrapata Beach is about a mile long crescent... More

Garrapata Beach is a beautiful beach in central California with views of the ocean, as well as the mountains. It is great for tanning, surfing, and playing, but the swimming can become harmful with the waves. It's the perfect temperature, not to hot, not to cold, but in the cooler months, it can become cool. I here that it's a... More
