This has to be one of the most beautiful settings on the West Coast. Even with all the building, the area is beautiful. The bay's colors and shoreline a quite a site. Lots of places pull off the road and walk. Plenty of animal life to observe. A real pleasure to visit.

Spectacular bay! Great for walking, biking and hiking. Have a picnic and watch for whales, sea otters, sea lions and many types of birds. We saw cormorants, sea gulls, egrets and much more.

Came here with my family and dog. It was beautiful, more rocky than sandy. The waters have a great turquoise color and great for photos. You should stop by if you are staying in Monterey or on your way to Big Sur. Farmers market near by, and great restaurants in the area,

We stayed at a Best Western just North of Monterrey - right on the bay. No need to go out whale watching since the whales and dolphins put on a show just in front of the hotel. The dolphins stayed playing for quite some time. This area is just beautiful in the morning as the fog burns off to reveal... More

The glorious October weather made for a picture perfect day on the coast. The beautiful views of the Pacific were so compelling that I stayed until sunset to watch and photograph the parting rays on the horizon. If you're in the area, escape the touristy area around the canneries or the aquarium because you just have to see the beautiful... More

Such a beautiful part of the west coast. The Aquarium is a must but the town is just a lovely place to stroll around.

One of the most amazing natural environments I have ever visited. I swam with the sea lions, the sea otters and the pelicans. Astonishing views of the shores, beaches and cliffs on the ocean. Don't loose your time among the typical stores and shops of Carmel if you don't have enough time. Visit instead Point Lobos, the 17 miles drive,... More
