Great Park, Amazing Views, Awesome Hikes

This is a great place to spend the day. My husband & I just recently with to Jack's Peak to do some geocaching & found ourselves in a beautiful place. The views are phenomenal!

We found this by searching for hiking. There are a number of different trails to follow, as shown on a map at the parking area. Apparently there are hand help maps but they were not available. Went on two hikes, and they were not too difficult, and our dog was welcome. Will return for sure.

This is a beautiful place to hike if you are fit enough, and the views are worth the workout. Not touristy. Mostly locals hang out here and do weekend hikes and picnicking. Panoramic views of the Bay and Carmel Valley.

Love this area but you need to be careful about being safety minded. Wild life is a reality here. The views are worth it.

We parked below the entrance to the park since a lot of cars were parking there. It would have been better to pay the $5 entrance fee and park near the trailheads. It was all uphill on a road from where we parked, and I'm estimating it was nearly 1 mile to the parking area inside the park. The hike... More

Monterey is surrounded by hills, but this is the only place where you can get up and get a good view of the whole bay - all the way to Santa Cruz and beyond. It's almost like a museum diorama - you can recognize all kinds of Monterey Peninsula highlights. Nice California-coast woodlands all around. Nice place for a stroll... More

This park has the best views of Monterey AND Carmel, but you must first brave the powerful Poison Oak. Stay on the trail!!!! Go to the top and park at the parking lot. The views are a ten-minute hike away. Watch out for park rangers; you're supposed to self pay to park.

While I've visited the Monterey area on and off over the years, I only learned of this gem of a park this past summer. We stopped here on the way to the Carmel Bach Festival and were delighted to explore it. It is conveniently located, has pleasant paths and from time to time stunning views. I highly recommend this park... More

We walked around the nature trail and filled all the points on our iPhone. It was spectacular. Well worth the time. Beautiful photo ops. View from many vantage points was amazing. We were the only people on the trail so it was very relaxing.
