We walked the short Skyline Trail with our dog. We would have done more trails but the poision oak was everywhere. This is a quiet park and the Skyline Trail (loop) is so scenic. There are benches/lookouts along the way. So take your time. This is not a difficult trail although strollers would not be easy, and it is not... More

This is off the beaten path, so chances are you will see very few people. We went mid-week and were alone the entire two hours we were there. The walk is pleasant and we brought a picnic. There are amazing views of the bay/

A good spot for hiking, but it is warmer than at Los Lobos Point, and more challenging. It feels like the hiking I do on the East coast. There is marginal spots for views. What you get is a nice uphill hike with a lovely view of Monterey below you once you reach the top.

Take a lovely drive up to Jacks Peak County Park. It's a well-kept local park with a very reasonable entrance fee of $5. The gatekeeper is filled with great info on the park as well as local attractions and restaurants. He suggested the .8 mile Skyline tour, which was an easy hike with stunning views of Monterey Bay. There are... More

Great park. Take the Jack's Peak Loop Trail. Unreal views of Monterey, the Bay all the way to Lover's Point. Walk just around the bend for views of Carmel Bay and Carmel Valley. There are other nice forest trails as well.

This is a great place to spend the day. My husband & I just recently with to Jack's Peak to do some geocaching & found ourselves in a beautiful place. The views are phenomenal!

We found this by searching for hiking. There are a number of different trails to follow, as shown on a map at the parking area. Apparently there are hand help maps but they were not available. Went on two hikes, and they were not too difficult, and our dog was welcome. Will return for sure.

This is a beautiful place to hike if you are fit enough, and the views are worth the workout. Not touristy. Mostly locals hang out here and do weekend hikes and picnicking. Panoramic views of the Bay and Carmel Valley.

Love this area but you need to be careful about being safety minded. Wild life is a reality here. The views are worth it.
