Way cool area for restaurants and shopping while visiting. Visited the aquarium and loved it. Lots of street parking with meters, just be careful about running out of time! The cannery row brewing co is awesome! Great food and drinks!

Cannery Row is the tourist spot in Monterey. It's bookended on one end by the Monterey Aquarium, and on the other by a very nice hotel. In between the two you have tourist shops, more tourist shops, some touristy restaurants, and then more of the same. However, there are some gems scattered around the area - the Bistro Moulin (just... More

Great combination of eating, shopping and historical insight of times gone by. Not too crowded as I visited during the off season.

You may be here in Monterey just to see this part of town and that is great but do yourself a favor and explore deeper into the city and the surrounding area. Take the time to walk around Carmel (keep an eye out for Clint Eastwood and other celebs) and check out Pacific Grove as well. The Monterey area is... More

We picked a nice warm afternoon to stroll along Cannery Row. Some parts are still in need of building work but all in all it was a pleasant walk and some of the shops were quite quaint and sold some nice local products, many though were purely for the tourists and much of the stuff on sale was tacky and... Cannery row in quite small, so you can park and walk. Parking in lots is $20 for the day, but parking on the street is about $1.50/hour, so if you don't plan to stay too long, find a spot along the street and plug the meter. Lots to see - shops, restaurants, antique store, aquarium, etc. There is a pamphlet... More

Sights, sounds and smells abound. A bit hyped, but worth at least one visit. There is a lot of history at this location and well worth taking it in.
