Cute shops with a little history. There was also the usual chain stores. Great place for seafood, and whale watching tours.

I remember coming here as a kid many years ago and things have changed a bit. Mostly the storefronts and spots to eat have changed but the overall atmosphere is relatively the same. It is a tourist attraction for sure so be prepared for large crowds especially during the summer months. Lot of fun shops and restaurants to check out.... More

It's got all the touristy shops and restaurants you could want with a small town feel. We enjoyed our wander about and would come again.

This is just your average shops where you can buy souvenirs and other tourist trinkets. There are candy shops, coffee and a few places to eat. Parking is tough to find and you have to watch the meter as they ticket.

It was very busy in Monterey the day I was there. Just walked around and looked at shops. Great buildings and nice view of ocean.

I visit Cannery Row whenever I am in central California because it is one of my favorite places to be. In the old days, it was a huge, slovenly, smelly industrial district dedicated to canning sardines. They were so efficient that they basically caught all the sardines and the industry crashed. In the half century since, they have taken the... More

Beautiful small town feeling. Best to go there in the off season so you can actually move around without bumping into everyone.

We enjoy the energy at Cannery Row, and the restaurant offerings. In addition it's always fun checking out the waterfront for wildlife (otters, seals, sea lions).

Had a stroll around here after visiting the aquarium. Quite a few tourist shops amongst the hotels with one or two art shops thrown. Visited the Bargetto Winery tasting shop that turned turned out to be a nice experience. Staff really looked after us with plenty of conversation and advice on our choice of tastings. Wine was good and we... More
