We spent about an hour walking around here. It is very touristy - t-shirt shops, etc. If you are lucky, you can find a parking spot that allows 90 minutes free a few blocks away. Definitely worth looking for.

This was just a street filled with a dozen shops with overpriced and not very nice souvenirs, restaurants etc. A big disappointment to us.

Although it has literary connections, there is not much worth seeing here. Overpriced restaurants in dark warehouse settings. Visit the nearby aquarium, but eat somewhere else.

We had a good time strolling in Cannery Row. I enjoyed the old buildings and neat murals of old timers. My family and I rented a surrey and rode along the recreation trail...beautiful scenery! We did some shopping. One of my favorite was an antique mall in an old warehouse. I love to pick up a small antique souvenir since... More

While it was lovely to be here we just felt that there was far too many gift shops selling a lot of nothing. There were several lovely shops and plenty of restaurants with a variety of food. Overall every thing is quite expensive due to it being a touristy place. BUT everyone was so pleasent and helpful.

Always love stopping here for lunch when we are in the area, try the Sardine Factory, or the Fish Hopper , Lots of pubs , the Monterey Aquarium is superb I try to go there at least once every year or so, parking is the pits so spend the money on the parking garage off Foam Street, and walk the... Cannery Row has changed so much with the times. Used to be a great place for neat craft shops and curios. Now - other than the Aquarium, it is T-Shirt shops, restaurants, etc. - just a tourist attraction. Free street parking is not to hard to find about 3 blocks away if you get there early. it's something to do... More

I really enjoy strolling Cannery Row, not only because of the scenery, shopping and great food, but I encourage you to start at the wharf and head toward the aquarium. While walking take the time to read the signs along the way. You can learn about Dr. Ricketts and John Steinbeck. That unusual combination warned about overfishing and other ecological... More
