This place was very prettified and clean and nice. But--this was nothing but a bunch of shops and ordinary restaurants. I wish I could have found more things of interest than I did--they did have a statue or two to relate to the historic or other figures of the place, but they all seemed like afterthoughts.

Yeah this is the place to be. The city can kinda roll up around 6pm but Cannery Row is swinging and grand! Lots of food, dancing, jazz, history. You'll love it!

I liked Cannery Row It's cute in a very touristic manner with everything beautified, but the effect is outstanding. The natural beauty of the bay makes a visit worthwhile on its own but the selection of shops and restaurants are also worth a visit. Don't expect to come to a tourist destination & not see tourists, or pay tourist prices... More

of course this is made for tourists, but actually don't expect a place where you also can breathe air of history... everything has changed and turned into a buy-as-much-as-you-can place...

We really weren't too impressed. Walked up & down the main 3-4 blocks. Lots of T-shirt shops and over-priced restaurants. If you are looking for low key you may enjoy this, but in hindsight I would have enjoyed spending more time exploring the neat little shops in the south area of Santa Cruz more.

Ok, so I've never read Steinbeck but do enjoy restored and retained historical buildings and this didn't disappoint. The modern attractions and historic area really blend well. A hotel within walking distance really pulls it all together and the aquarium really anchor the area. A definite must visit area.

Cannery Row is a really fun part of town. Basically the main drag of Monterrey with a bunch of shops and restaurants, plus it's right next to the water so you can walk out on a little pier and snap some pictures. Definitely recommend checking it out. The one thing to keep in mind however is PARKING. If you drive... More

My husband and I walked around Cannery Row one evening, and it has a slew of chain restuarants, salt water taffy shops, stores, and trinket shops. It is not worth wasting precious vacation time when there are so many beautiful and scenic areas to see! You can get a glimpse of the water from there, but why not spend time... More

This is mostly a shopping area with places to eat and the Aquarium near by. Its a nice area but expensive and not much to see but the ocean and the aquarium. But lots of ways to spend your money.
