Wonderful area for tourists and locals alike!

A lovely area to waste some time on a warm day! Plenty of restaurants and stores for shopping to keep anyone occupied!

This is THE epitome of over commercialization! Nothing but touristy shops. I guess one should sort of expect this here. But it is a bit too tacky at times!

Touristy, yes, but if you visit the area you go to Cannery Row. Especially fun for the shopper, but also good for a bit of history, people watching, and even some tide pools nearby. Even the non shopper will enjoy the unique touristy shops. Better eating at the pier or ask a local, but still good food.

A must-see destination. Lots of history there, the Monterey Bay Aquarium and interesting jewelry shops. There is a neat Turkish store where you can buy inexpensive gifts, and one of my favorite restaurants of all time, The Great Artichoke, where you can have artichokes prepared several different ways.

There are plenty of sea food restaurants on " the Row" . Not too many offering traditional steak and potato eateries. A couple of pizza shops. We ate lunch at Sly McFLYS. The fish and chips was very good.

The ambience is nice with many good restaurants and coffe shops. Most of the other shops are full of t shirts and souvenirs. The aquarium is located at end of Cannery Row which you should visit if you have time.

Main drag for Monterey. Rather touristy bit that is to be expected. Restaurants, gift shops and other little trinkets. Couple of olive oil, hot sauce and clothing shops. Good for a stroll to take in the sights but expect typical touristy prices and selection.

An interesting street to walk down for atmosphere but it is a serious tourist trap otherwise. It's all about location for quality but most stores should be just walked by

A reminder of Monterey's once-bustling canning economy, Cannery Row is now one of the city's top tourist attractions. Sure, the shops are definitely geared toward tourists, but the area is still a lovely area to walk through to see the formerly industrial side of Monterey Bay! Besides, this is where the world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium is, which is a must-go,... More
