We just visited the Aquarium for the fourth time and it keeps getting better! The new "Tentacles" and "Jellies Experience" exhibits are extraordinary and fun. Even though we visited on a Sunday, it wasn't that crowded. Instead of parking nearby, we kept our car parked at our hotel and walked 30 minutes along the pedestrian sidewalk that's parallel to the... More

I loved photographing the fish and birds in the exhibit. Enjoyed visiting the exhibits and the special lectures too. Great way to spend the day in Monterey.

When we visited last, it was REALLY crowded, but I still enjoyed seeing the varied sea life. We did see feeding time for some of the animals, and even though crowds were there, we could see and enjoy. I could spend all day in the two story exhibits where the fish and sharks swim around and around and around. We... More

Amazing, super big glass-walled tanks for fish. Lighting and natural enclosures highlighted the species. Tons of hands-on experiences. Multi age and multi medium activities to teach children (and adults) about marine life. This was the best museum-type place we have ever visited.

I love aquariums, but the Monterey Bay Aquarium is a special breed of touristy attractions in that it is also an organization devoted to the oceans and the creations therein, and it is also completely, utterly fantastic. From the giant tanks full of kelp, fish, yellow-fin tuna, and sharks, to the otter feeding, to the amazing exhibit of Jellyfish, Cuttlefish... More

Nice aquarium, but to be honest, small. Have you visited Lisbon aquarium? If you have, don't waste your money. Great and valuable work and info on conservation and ecology but overpriced for what it offers.

None of us had been to the aquarium before. Tickets were a bit pricey, but we purchased them ahead of time at our local AAA to save some money. Overall, it was a really neat experience. It was fairly crowded which made navigating around somewhat difficult. You aren't allowed to eat inside except at the cafe area, so we took... More

We just moved to the area and everyone told us to get an aquarium membership, and we are so glad that we listened. The aquarium is very expensive for a day trip ($40 for adults, $25 for children), and as a family of 5 (one under 3) it would have cost us $130 for just one visit. However, for a... More

We were on a family vacay with children from the ages of 2, 4, &10. It was nice, but I was expecting more for the price of admission. Plus parking in the neighborhood can run from $10 -$20. There were just a lot of fish in fish tanks. It would have been a better experience if there were guided tour... More
