A must see. It has something for all ages. Very well maintained can see in one long day, nice if you have two. Usually you can get a two day pass for the price of one. Right on Cannery Row. Great hands on displays for children. They can pet rays. Huge aquarium displays, don't miss the octopus.

What a fantastic experience!! Be sure and take in some of the feedings and the presentations in the auditorium, it will greatly add to your experience. We also did two of the extra tours and they were worth the time and extra money. The staff and volunteers here are wonderful, friendly, and extremely helpful. I am so glad we had... More

This is one of the nicest aquariums I've been to. The place is well designed and it's easy to move around from one place to another within the aquarium. Plan to be there early as the line to buy the ticket can get pretty long. AAA members can buy the tickets in advance at their office in Northern Cal. Visited... More

Recommend purchasing tickets on-line before you go or pick up at will-call to avoid long line-ups. The Open Sea feeding was very cool. Sea otters were fun to watch.

Great experience for the children. If it was just me and the wife my rating might be lower but my kids loved it.

Though my favorite thing to do is sit and watch the sharks and turtles from the upstairs, calm my thoughts, and just get hypnotized by the mellow almost white noise effect, this time around the jelly fish area takes the stage as we danced in the jelly fish psychedelic rooms, and watched the beautiful contrasts of orange and blue. It... More

After reading the reviews and what to do in Monterey this place became a must. Many reviews criticised the price but for goodness sake, the cost of upkeep and everything in th emplacement I was surprised it wasn't more costly. All of the exhibits were Great it felt wrong to be able to touch the bat rays as if it... More

We were not expecting to be too impressed with the Monterey aquarium bc we have seen many other aquariums nationwide through the years. My 15 and 13 yr olds were not even really looking forward to the visit. But, wow, were we impressed! It was absolutely worth the money. We spent 3 hrs there and didn't even see any of... More

In my several visits to the Monterey Bay Aquarium over the years, the one thing that keeps me coming back is the uniqueness of this place. I would recommend always going on the week days (if you can swing it), as the weekends can get really crowded really fast.
