I LOVE this place. I will never get tired of it. The exhibitions are great, the staff are great and the movie theatre is awesome! Especially the movie about the Californian Sea Otter Luna! Buy tickets in advance and visit!

If you are passing by Monterey you must go to Monterey Bay Aquarium. This Aquarium is really well located in front of the sea and the variety of animals are really nice. It is a perfect place for children as there are many activities for them. I was impressed by the beauty of the jelly-fish.

We were stopping in Monterey for the evening as we were driving to LA on the Pacific Highway 1. We went to the aquarium with only 1 hour left before they closed and it was worth the money. There weren't many people in and we could move around with ease which made looking at the displays so much easier. It... More

If you are anywhere near Monterey, CA you must visit the acquarium. It is the best one our family has ever visited. The acquarium does a great job in tying in its location on the coast into the displays.

This aquarium is located right on the coast at the far end of Cannery Row near Pacific Grove. As you can see from the photos on this Trip Advisor site their focus is on the tentacles and Jellies in addition to conservation. Their presentation of the Jellies is absolutely beautiful! Small children will love it here because of the hands... More

Take the kids and go!! I am an Oceanographer, and can honestly say the Monterey Bay Aquarium is the best ocean-related experience I have ever enjoyed. The short programs in the auditorium are well done, informative, and very enjoyable. The volunteers are knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The aquarium focuses on the fauna of the Monterey Bay region, but the exhibits and... More

The entry cost is quite high but think of it as a charitable donation towards a great cause. Being vacation week there were hundreds of kids but there was still plenty of space. The Whales to Windmills presentation was inspiring for kids and young adults with time still to make a difference to their lives and environment. The story of... More

I had heard so many rave reviews but I was especially disappointed in the jellyfish exhibit. Man y of the exhibits were photos or film. It illls very spread out but also very crowded . I thought the admission was very expensive for what you get. .
