We had a nice time at the aquarium. There was lots to observe, and the volunteers and employees were knowledgable. My only complaint is that I hate to see larger mammals and fish in an enclosed environment.

Used this as part of a city pass for San Francisco otherwise the price would have been a bit rich. Having said that the aquarium has great exhibits, particularly the areas where you can touch some of the fish. Kids particularly loved those areas. The sea otters are adorable and the 15 minute shows in the auditorium are always busy... More

Our family absolutely loved this aquarium. It is well-maintained with preserving the environment as its highest priority while still sharing this water life with people! I could have stayed there for days!

Maybe we're a bit spoiled after having seen several other great aquariums like Vancouver, Chicago, Singapore and Barcelona. Monterey's aquarium doesn't stand out as the most impressive of those, but it is very well done, in a former Cannery building. The location is superb. it offers a big variation in subjects and some animals we never saw before in other... More

Every aspect is just excellent. Educational, artistic and user friendly. Staff are available to explain, answer and point out all the fascinating aspects of the aquarium and it's surroundings. Don't let a long entrance line detour you, this facility is designed to accommodate a good volume of visitors. And treat yourself to an excellent lunch at the cafe (hint...as soon... More

Spent a whole day here and still didn't get to see it all. Awesome interactive displays, great beautiful location with three floors of tanks and exhibits. Highly recommended.

My wife and I spent half a day walking through the museum. Expect large crowds of people pushing there way in front of you and little kids running wild. There are a lot of different exhibits to see and a lot to learn. There are numerous outdoor observation towers that overlook Monterey Bay and allow you to enjoy the beautiful... More

Get there when the doors open and the first hour and a half may not be too crowded. If you are also going to San Francisco, I recommend getting the City Pass which includes the Monterey Bay Aquarium and eliminates waiting in line. Our kids really enjoyed the otter feeding and the deep sea feeding. It is nice that the... More

Hi Again Folks. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is one of those attractions that my wife and I find a way to visit at least once every trip that involves the West Coast. It is certainly one of the most advanced aquariums of its type anywhere in the world. Bring your kids and just go there. Besides everything else, outside, on... More

When we got there I couldn't believe how many people were there. It was a Monday but it is the summer. It was difficult to get to tanks and you had to wait at most of them for people to move. It was nice and the Jelly Fish area was amazing.
