The is an excellent place to take a mile swim, then after, kick back along the sea wall on the beach and soak up the sun. You can just take a beach towel or also bring your fav chair. Oh yes, the bkie/hike begins here into Santa Barbara. There is parking lot, street only and limited. No fee. The SB... More

This is the beach in front of the Four Season Biltmore, It is a very pretty beach, but the first night we were here the wind was terrible and your skin would hurt when the sand would hit it.

Watch the comings and goings of the "locals" and wane-be locals; it's just in front of a 5 Star Hotel, but the guests are from all over the place...the sea is safe, beach is clean, sun is hot...! Very mixed bunch of people coming and going, a nice atmosphere but quite a few "woofies"...

not too busy, probably because the only thing to do is sit on the sand or swim in the ocean or watch dolphins and pelicans - very nice way to pass half a day. If you really want you can go and have a drink in the four seasons hotel but that would probably diminish the experience. A easy 60... More

What a great beach. Went to four different beaches during my visit and this one was definitely at the top of the list. Get there early for great parking and easy access to the beach.

While checking out the Four Seasons Hotel in Montecito, we stumbled onto Butterfly Beach. We had a wonderful time walking along and into the residential area south of hotel. Careful, you may find some tar on the bottom of your feet. Just use some alcohol to rub it off. Enjoy!

Ok. This beach is attractive with palm trees lining the beach, nice sized surf for families with younger children and crowd size kept in control by the limited amount of parking. But, it's extremely doggy friendly and despite signs to keep dogs on leashes for part of the beach, no one does. There are a lot of dogs. Lots and... More

We visited this beach after doing some research on our stay in Santa Barbara. It was a short but pretty drive out to the beach from SB and was soooo worth it! We visited to watch the sunset so parking was not an issue at all. Butterfly Beach was much quieter than any other beach we visited. We had the... More

This is a very nice, quiet and beautifull beach to just rest and aprecciate the natural environment around. It´s a very clean space, no surfers around and you can eat just in front of it in a nice restaurant.

We come here frequently throughout the year for beach walks or just to hang out with our beach chairs, cooler, hats and books to read and enjoy the ambiance! This beach is gorgeous and fun to hang at. Butterfly Beach is located across the street and a fabulous place to visit as well! :-)
