The Point Cabrillo Lighthouse is so easy to get to. Parking is a 1/2 mile walk but there is handicap parking right up to the lighthouse if needed. It is beautiful and well worth your time. The Mendocino coastline is gorgeous from these cliffs and definitely several photo opportunities available. Not to mention the lighthouse being used in the film...

Visited December 2011 - this was one of my favorite spots in Mendocino/Fort Bragg area- LOVED Point Cabrillo Lighthouse! This was the lighthouse used in the movie "The Majestic" with Jim Carrey - relaxing, nostalgic feel about the whole area - easy half-mile walk from parking lot to lighthouse however can be a bit tricky finding the parking lot from main...

the lighthouse is on a bluff overlloking the ocean It was pretty windy but the ocean was spectacular lots odfsea birds fling buy and th surf and wave gave us a show It was a nice walk you can go into the lighthouse There is a donations if you want to go in Very nice walk
It's about a half mile walk down to the lighthouse (disabled parking is available within a few feet of the lighthouse however), and it's an easy walk and very enjoyable. There is a request for a $5 contribution for lighthouse preservation so don't forget to bring a bit of cash like I did. It's WELL worth it!
Turn west off of Highway 1 (from Mendocino) on Point Cabrillo Dr (same exit for Russian Gulch State Park), but make an immediate bend to the right and stay on Point Cabrillo Dr (quick left for RG Park). You will pass 9-10 little streets to the left before you reach the turn in for the lighthouse (look for little new...

Charming and quaint with an expected fabulous location overlooking the sea. Nice short walk from the lot to the lighthouse and the view beyond
There is a long walk from the parking area to the lighthouse. We were able to drive as one of our friends was in a wheelchair. There were many interesting exhibits besides the lighthouse itself. Nice way to spend a couple hours.
Lighthouse interior was interesting. View of ocean was fantastic. If you are whale-watching, this is a great place. Take the "long" way (short, flat hike) around thru fields to finally get to the lighthouse -- view of ocean the entire time.
Went here from Mendecino to see the lighthouse. Nice walk from the car park and then the added bonus of sitting on the cliff top and watching the whales make their way north. Small museum in the lighthouse. Recommended!
