it was very foggy almost the entire trip which made costal viewing hard. We were advised that in Sept. and Oct. it is 100% clear.

Mendocino has a beautiful rugged coastline with amazing views of waves crashing on rocky beaches. We saw many whale spouts and some seals. Also several different types of sea birds including pelicans, crows and seagulls.

Enjoyed the changing views and the different beaches and towns along the coastline. Good place to take photographs.

It can be overcast but that's what you get in the northern California coast. Lots of walking and hiking to be had so wear comfortable shoes, preferably boots if your going to play on the rocky cliffs.

One of the most beautiful shorelines in the world! Little wonderful restaurants here and there, but most of all, crashing waves against the rocks. The summer is lovely, but nothing's better than being there during a winter storm!

No matter how many times I go there; I always love going back. The overly sweet town of Mendocino is nice, but Fort Bragg, Fort Ross, etc are the real goods of Mendocino.

Such a wonderful drive with tremendous views. Plan on a long drive than you expect with the fog and winding roads. Fill up before Mendocine as it is highway robbery.

Try to go midweek with some good weather too. What an amazing drive, we came up 101 from Jenner on the coast. Totally world class views. We went back to S F via Rt.128 through the Redwoods. Incredible! Keep your gas tank full.

Actually, of course, it is one of the more special places in the world and partly because the whole world doesn't beat a path there. Just a few paths for you and your loved one to walk along...

Visited and experienced it many times. Each time is wonderful and memorable. Uncrowded, well-protected, really the archtypical coast and wonderland. The sea, light, and life are constantly in motion and changing, and people are awed.
