Beautiful country, harrowing drive on Hwy 1 :), fun tide pools and beach for the kids. Breathtaking cliffs and ocean views.

What is there to say except that Mendocino has the most beautiful waves and although there is some beach access, I don't associate it with a place Id walk on the beach at. Instead Mendocino, to me is a place where you watch the restless sea from above and bask in its natural beauty. So much of this area hasn't... More

We enjoy going to Mendocino and depending upon what we are doing either stay in Mendocino and like in particular the Little River area for that or in Fort Bragg area (i.e. generally Fort Bragg if want to take the Skunk Train). We like the state parks in the area and stop at them during our drive. Some of our... More

A beautiful trip up CA Hwy1. The views are fantastic and a trip into Mendocino itself is a must. The town has many historic buildings and is the set for 'Cabot Cove' the fictional town for the TV series 'Murder She Wrote'. It is also a shopping paradise! August may not be the best time to travel the coast though.... More

Hidden gem in california. Mendocino is a beautiful area. Everything is on the main street and Fort Bragg is close by with restaurants and shops. The coast line is beautiful and the area is clean.

Glass beach was disappointing. There was a constant line of visitors walking to and from the beach. It was ridiculous seemed like an amusement park

This is a very beautiful coast. The surf crashes over rocks and against cliffs. There are many areas of beach access, with areas of sand beaches that are not crowded and have nice access from Hwy 1.

This was my first opportunity to take my son along HWY 1. We travelled from Legget to HWY 1 and what a wonder it was when we came out of the canyons and trees to behold the Mendocino Coast. Too beautiful for words. HWY 1 is in great shape, not at all scary like it was when I was a... More
