Loved it all, really. Drive was long but so beautiful. The country is mesmerizingly beautiful and the coast and bluffs and the sea. A lovely historic location.

One of the most beautiful spots on the planet. Magnificent surf, great coastline for exploration and climbing, easy and comfortable walk. Gorgeous no matter the very changeable weather!

The bluffs were fabulous! Lots of nooks and different views of the waves splashing on the rocks. A cave under the bluff was fun to view from different angles. The bluffs went on and on!

The Pacific coast at Mendocino is one of those simply beautiful, rugged and awe-inspiring places that always draws me back. Driving SR 1 can be a challenge, but if you are just NOT in a hurry (and why would you be?), then it provides hundreds of vistas along those snake-like curves.

I fell in love with this coast line as a child, so many rocks to climb on. As an adult I can sit for hours and watch the waves, and smell the salt. The best time is at night, the fog horns and the light house reflecting, and nothing like the fog rolling in.

This was our first trip to California and we were told to check the Mendocino area out for its fantastic shoreline. We were not disappointed! The roar of the crashing waves and the sheer joy of viewing the seals made this a day to cherish! No huge crowds to contend with just you and nature. Not to be missed!

Having driven through the coast from LA all the way up to Northern Oregon - this is probably my favorite place, especially in the automn when the sun is not that bright and the colors are a bit softer. Early in the morning and towards sunset - life does not get any better!
