Breathtakingly picturesque

Truly the pacific coastline contains some of the most picturesque sights in the world, and Mendocino County is at the center of it.

We stopped in Mendocino on our way to Vancouver Ca. the coastline is breathtaking for someone from the Florida shores. It was 63 degrees with a gentle breeze. See my review of the Sea Rock Inn.

This is a wild piece of coast where you can walk in the early morning mists watching sea otters play in the seaweed on the rocks and enjoy the solitude. The driftwood is something to behold weathered to a pale grey by the sea and the bleaching sun....some people have made the most amazing 'cabins' on the beach and used... More

Definitely worth the drive, the scenery is spectacular, the restaurants are wonderful and the B & B's are unique, A nice place to go on a weekend or longer, take a drive when the weather is hot here and enjoy the cooler weather there

You can't beat this location! It's absolutely stunning. The drive to get there isn't short, but it's well worth the traveling!

this is a rugged coast line, however it is very beautiful. There is plenty of trails and scenic overviews for pictures. If you haven't visited this area, you are missing out.

I drove from jenner up to fort bragg...took my time, stopping multiple times. Between Van Damme to the very north, Westport, I would have to say Russian Gulch was my favorite park. The view under Panhorst bridge and the Fern Canyon hike were both great..and then you can go over to the "blow hole" area to walk the Pacific headlands.... More

Hopefully you'll be there on the perfect day that's not overcast and there's no fog, with the temperature at a perfect 70 degrees with only a hint of a breeze. We were that lucky. Your other wish is for there to be minimum tourists. We were so lucky. Third time is a charm.

The Mendocino coast is magical in so many ways. The energy and cleansing of not only the ocean's effect but taking the time to hike the many diverse coastal forests and feeling their energies and variety of ancient and young trees. Oh, and the 'critters' within the forests - the four-leggeds, the winged, and the slithering. I have heard from... More

The Mendocino has many empty beaches and dramatic rocky coves with crashing surf. Great views driving along highway 1 as long as you are not in a hurry (lots of hairpin bends). There are some great stands of giant redwoods too. The sea is pretty cold here so wear a wetsuit if you fancy a dip, unless you are made... More
