The thing about Mendocino is that it's full of people who are doing their own thing and they're doing it their way because they're not owned by some conglomerate a thousand miles away. That's part of the charm of the Northern coast... cell phone signals are weak, Wi-Fi is practically non-existent and there are independent book stores!! This is a... More

My husband and I were recently in Mendocino and enjoyed poking around this book shop. Their selection of funny, unusual birthday cards kept me entertained for some time. I bought a bunch and so I'm in pretty good shape for sibling birthday cards in 2015. The woman who waited on us at the register was friendly. I bought a copy... More

A simply fabulous book store. Stop here every visit to buy a book I never have time to read until later.

Husband loves book selections on environment. I buy gorgeous gift cards for future use, and sometimes gifts as well.

We love browsing and perusing this quaint bookstore on every visit. They have a large selection of a variety of books, gifts, stationery, and oh so much more.

They pack a great selection of books into this space, as well as some great extras such as cards and calendars. We love browsing around there and it's a friendly place.

I've been coming to Mendocino for over 30 years. Sadly so many of the wonderful shops I liked to browse in have since closed due to the economy or retired owners. I am always so happy to see the Gallery Bookshop open - It's a little piece of magic that I cherish. Browsing through all the books is such a... More

Large and friendly book store. They always have nice things the regular, run of the mill book stores do not. I always find great cards here, childrens books, stylish reading glasses, pocket calendars and beautiful wall calendars worthy of framing. We visit Mendocino village at least once a year and this place is always a MUST-SEE for us.

You can spend hours here ~ if you like books, you will love this shop and it also has an excellent card and calendar section. I save up all year to spend in this shop ~ being reminded of how much I love time in a well loved and well stocked book store. Allow yourself an hour at least...with time... More

Nothing corporate here. A wonderful, well organized bookshop with attractive displays, broad selection of books in just about every category, and charming "accessories" for book lovers. The friendly and knowledgeable staff complete the package. Linger, browse, enjoy!
