We walked around a bit and took some beautiful pictures.Even though it was a bit cool, we stuck it out for the sunset and was so happy that we did. It was gorgeous!

Really not so much a state park as you would expect like yellowstone, but a very beautiful place to walk. Saw dogs walking the paths on leashes. Really nice.

No day in Mendocino is complete without a walk around the Headlands. Beautiful scenery and an ideal place to spot migrating whales in season. Right on the edge of town - we often pick up a sandwich at Tote Fete and have a picnic on the Headlands or do a little shopping on our way back to our favorite inn,... More

Visited Dec 2011 The arches and rock formations in the water and the blue color - just beautiful! The beach below on the side of the town looked very nice - probably amazing in the summer! You can just walk right out to the headlands from the town - it's in the front as well as on the side of... More

Amazing views out over the ocean and dramatic Mendocino coastline in all directions. Wildflowers abound and surround the meandering paths. Carefully preserved and well-worn pathways lead the walker to wonderful vistas, rock formations, birdlife . . . with benches to sit and admire.

Visiting the Mendocino Headlands is a must see when you are in this area. Apparently there are three miles of trails through the park. It's very easy walking - all flat. The views looking out over the ocean and the cliffs are beautiful. Would recommend taking a picnic lunch to the picnic tables that are in the park just across... More

It's nature at its most beautiful. If you don't believe me, go see for yourself! The view of the ocean at sunset is breathtaking, and it is a prime spot from which to watch wildlife: whales go by on their migration, dolphins and seals favor the spot, and flocks of birds, notably pelicans fly in flock across the landscape. There... More

Walk all around Mendocino while hiking the easy Mendocino Headlands Park trails. Great views of the Little River and rocky shorelines.

It was our second trip to Mendocino and I was excited to explore the headlands again. It is such a beautiful place whether you decide to drive and park, walk, or run on the trails (like we did). The weather was wonderful and the sun was shining! We saw a few whales which is always a plus! Definitely a must... More
