The breadth of their knowledge is incredible. Their raptor experiences and seminars make a great gift! And some really unusual raptors that have come to be in their care. Five Stars -- really? Can't we add one more and make it six? This is one-of-a-kind! A California first! You'll want to go do it again and again! The experience is... More

My husband and I are fascinated by raptors. I purchased gift certificates for both the hands on falconry class and the owl encounter for Christmas. These were his favorite gifts this year. We enjoyed both the educational parts of the classes and the opportunities to have a Harris hawk and a Spectacled owl on our leather gloves. It is clear... More

This is one of our favorite places to visit. The countryside is beautiful. The locations is clean and respectful. The birds of prey are well taken care of and protected. We not only learned about owls on this visit, but were allowed to have our photos taken with one of them. This is our second visit here, the first was... More

I wish there was a lower rating because this place deserves this. If you are really into watching tortured birds tide to perches in cages than this is the right place for you. I hated seeing those animals tortured in cages, they claim that they are safe when they are tide to those metal perches because they fight otherwise!!! Really... More

Wow, it would seem you are dead set to create a false image of our center. Our birds are well kept, healthy, fit and all are flown on a regular basis. It is too bad that you were not able to understand the circumstances regarding the care of birds of prey, we would have been happy to answer any questions... More

An experience not to be missed. The basic falconry lesson is exciting and educational. We were given a throughout introduction, presented with the history of falconry and learned about the hunting behavior of the birds. Of course, the best part of the class was able to call the bird to your glove and watch it play catch mid air. It... More

I've never done anything like this before, but I saw a deal on Travelzoo for Basic Falconry I and couldn't resist. It's a really great experience especially for tween and teens. The instructor was very knowledgeable, patient and friendly. The presentation was well-organized and the group clearly has their act together. I'd recommend it to anyone. It's well worth the... I recently took and introductory lesson in Falconry and the Owl Experience. I had another previous Falconry experience in Hershey PA. I found West Coast to be particularly good at the narrative that went along the activities of flying the birds. It was extremely informative and interesting. The birds are beautiful, and the activities well organized. Both of our guides... More

We had an out of town visitor, and the 3 of us drove from Marin. Very pleasant trip, and right on the track of swan migration, which takes place November through January. We couldn't believe our eyes; saw literally thousands of swans in wetlands as we drove east. It's about a 2 1/2 hour trip to West Coast Falconry. It... More

We discovered this gem about 3 years ago through a Travelzoo offer, but soon after got on their mailing list and now get some good deals from them every once in a while. We've done the Basic Falconry Lesson, Owl Experience & The Hawk Walk, and each one has been a very memorable and unique experience. The Falconry Lesson was... More

The staff at West Coast Falconry Center provide a top quality nature experience where you get hands-on work with the bird there and they provide a fun, but educational visit. It's a bit of a drive (north of Sacramento) but well worth it. You get about 1-1/2 to 2 hours for the Falconry basic (there are several different choices including... More
