If you've ever been enchanted by falconers in the movies, the Hawk Walk is your chance to "glove up" and hike through beautiful oak studded hills with a master falconer. She taught us how to call Mari to our glove...what a rush when a large hawk flies right to you! Directly prior to the hike, our small group enjoyed a... More

An excellent class with two knowledgeable teachers in the history of falcons, hunting and watching Diego do his bird things. Well worth the trip to the Yuba Sutter Area for this over the top experience. We are still talking about it to friends.

I picked up a half off deal as a Christmas present for the Basic Falconry 1 class. I purchased one for myself and another as a gift for my mom. We finally got a chance to visit April 27, 2013. The location of West Coast Falconry is gorgeous...a few miles outside the town of Marysville. They have a great view... More

Holding a raptor like Don Diego or Draga is something everyone should experience; making eye contact while they sit on your glove is a thrilling experience. We'll be bringing family and friends, this should be at the top of everyone's list. The instructors are the best and make it a lot of fun.

We participated in the Hawk Walk, which turned out to be almost 2 hrs. and our session had 10 people in it. This was a fun experience, although pretty pricey, which is why it got 4 stars rather than 5. The guides were certainly knowledgeable and answered all of our questions with ease. To have such a large and beautiful... More

My Husband and I attended the basic Falconry Class. This was a wonderful class. Diego the hawk was very special. We were able to hold him on the glove several time which was on my bucket list. I recommend this for anyone wanting an up close encounter with a bird of prey.

We got up close and personal with a Harris Hawk. Having this magnificent bird land and take off from your own (leather protected) forearm is an incomparable rush. The two women who demonstrated and lectured with facts and humor added to our enjoyment and learning experience. They gave participating children the same respect and attention that they gave adults. Being... More

My birding friends and I decided this would be a good experience. We also took along two grown children who were not birders. What a wonderful adventure! We enjoyed brunch in Marysville at The Brick Coffeehouse and then headed 20 minutes out of town for the session. What enthusiastic, knowledgable, and concerned handlers greeted us. We were given information about... More

Myself and two friends were here two days ago for the 90-minute hawk walk. I had never heard of this place until I saw it listed on Travelzoo for a special deal of 1/2 off the price. Since I am a birder and nature lover I could not resist, even though it was approximately a 2-1/2 hour drive for us... More

What an experience! Both my husband and I had the most awesome day at the West Coast Falconry. Highly, highly recommend the experience where you have training by Jana and Kathy before heading out on hike along with the falcon of the day - we had Don Diego. We were amazed at well trained these falcons are and how easy... More
