Great experience, completely worth the $45 we paid for 2 people (Groupon plus $5/person fuel charge) . Did the 3 hour whale watching trip on 12/28/14. Saw Humpback whales, large pods of dolphins and loads of other sea life. Professional crew, and would have been a great value at full price! The $4 beers and reasonably priced snacks were a... More

I'm from the East Coast and decided to choose Marina del Rey Sportfishing for my first party boat excursion on the West Coast. It couldn't have gone better. The boat (The New Del Mar) is huge with lots of space and very clean. The breakfast sandwich they made for me on board was AMAZING! The boat crew/staff are all very... More

Wow, what a great trip! We had two excellent guides who really knew their stuff-birds, whales, anything ocean related. One of them posted his beautiful photos online for us, no charge. Boat is very nice, plenty of cold beer for sale with no price gouging. We saw three different kinds of whales, thousands of dolphins, big pelicans, sea lions. I'll... More

I cannot speak more highly about this experience and the crew on the ship. Besides the one major downfall of my boyfriend having extreme seasickness the whole time (and basically sitting out the entire trip) everything ELSE went perfect. I went on a Tuesday morning and was lucky to ride on the New Del Mar. This is one of the... More

Went fishing with my son on a afternoon weekday trip. Only 16 people on the boat plus the crew. Used a Groupon to get nearly a half price fare including the fishing rods. The person taking the money would not accept the electronic coupon on my smart phone and demanded paper coupons only. Good thing I had the paper coupon... More

Two things I learned after taking a half day trip on the New Del Mar... #1 Don't go on a Saturday morning (had no choice was the only free day we had on the trip) #2 Don't go when there is a GROUPON available. We purchased the GROUPON and it was $49 for 2 which included bait and tackle. We... More

Came in from Bakersfield and saw dolphins, sea lions and Blue Whales! 5 adults up close to the boat and 1 baby. We had such a good at a great price that we will be taking the whole family next year. I have mobility issues and the crew was very helpful.

Went on half day trip on New Del Mar. Weather was windy which meant no surface fishing. Rock fish weren't very active . Maybe 25 people on boat and not many fish caught but that's fishing. Crew were really helpful and the boat and tackle was top class. Just wish there had been more fish around.$110 dollars for two including... More

Took my son out for the half day on the Del Mar crew was efficient, helpful and made my son really enjoy his first deep sea fishing trek. I would recommend this to any one. Boat was well supplied, crew was friendly and efficient. It was a full boat and no one minded. Caught fish, saw dolphins, seals, sting rays... More

Wow what a great trip. My teenage boys laughed at me when I told them we were going whale watching, they said we'll just sit on a boat for 3 hours doing nothing...they were so wrong and very happy about it. We started out seeing sea lions and dolphins and that was cool but then we would see "blow" in... More
