Not a great pier in terms off thing to do but the views out into the ocean are worth stopping for. Different all together to Santa Monica pier.

Calm and nice place to sit an enjoy a crispy and beautiful morning. Watch the surfers waiting for the perfect wave and have some lunch at the very popular restaurant at the end of the pier - Malibu Farm.

The Malibu pier is nice, it has a great view, but the beach was not that exciting, when we got to the beach next to the pier we wanted to get into the sea but there was a warning sign that said the sea was contaminated and swimming was banned, at least you were surfing. So we wanted to rent... More

Perfect spot for an organic but delicious lunch. Great food, staff and wonderful view! Also a top spot to enjoy a drink in the sun. Highly recommended!

If you're looking for a lot of activity, go to Santa Monica & not Malibu. However, if you want a nice quite place & like to walk the pier, I recommend this pier. Be prepared to spend some money for parking & food while there. Both are a little pricey.

quite clean crowd free....as the sun goes down the sharks come in to feed. Spent many a night and day fishing this great pier.....usually no body else was there but it was January to May (best time to visit) shark fishing was great (catch and release only) you just have to watch your hand as they like to turn around... The trip from LA to Malibu is very nice, do expect traffic as you head toward Malibu as there was road construction in Oct. 2014. Once you arrive at Malibu Pier, expect a very laid back stroll. It is beautiful and low key, especially compared to Santa Monica Pier. You can have a nice lunch on the pier, or maybe... More

Staying in Malibu

Neighborhood Profile
Malibu
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
