It's a pier. It's the polar opposite of the Santa Monica zoo-pier. Not much to do or see, $7.50 for an hour parking. Let's go with "serene."

we did a long PCH1 drive. along the route we passed thru Malibu. figured we'd stop and see the fisherman on the Pier. not too much to rave about. there is restaurant. this is a 1/2 hr stop if you're just there to Pier tour. oh, yes ocean view... lol

Beautiful place to visit. Had dinner at Malibu Farm Restaurant on the pier and the food was excellent. Very scenic with house in the hills overlooking the ocean. Great place to visit.

If you are driving through Malibu, it's probably worth a stop to take a look and a walk around, but I would not make a special trip. It's a small pier with a bar/restaurant and, of course, the ocean view. You'll see some folks fishing off the pier and maybe some surfers along the beach. At the time we were... More

Where do I start? The weather was perfect and watching the surfers was really cool. This is a perfect place to stop off, stretch your legs, catch some rays, and get some free entertainment, (surfers). I have personally never surfed before, but it looked like so much fun. My husband and I witnessed a young girl, maybe about 16 years... More

Staying in Malibu

Neighborhood Profile
Malibu
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
