Not having heard of this winery prior to being invited as part of a company meeting, this turned out to be a very nice surprise. Beautiful setting, knowledgeable tour guide, more appetizers and food than a normal person can eat and wine along every step made this a very enjoyable evening. A special tasting straight from the barrel of what... More

The drive is windy, but only about 20 minutes from Hwy 17. Pack a basket of your favorite goodies and buy a bottle of their delicious, approachable wine to enjoy on the grounds tucked into the beautiful Santa Cruz mountains. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and the wines are a very good value. Ask them about taking you to the... More

I visited Byington winery two times in 2012 for company events. Luckily both times the weather was pretty good even in December. I am not a wine expert but thought it was pretty good. My colleagues thought so as well and purchased several bottles. The view is really outstanding. Not sure if they do weddings but It would be beautiful.... More

The location is incredible - and worth the drive. We've never thought much of their wines in the past. Maybe that was our problem, or maybe the winemaker is changing things up. But, this time, wines were much better and the tasting room staff was fun, informative, and very passionate about their wines. Now you combine good wines with a... More

My wife and I almost got married here. Wonderful and kind staff with rather good wines. The view is amazing. The wine tour was very enlightened. We joined the wine club and have enjoyed the wines since joining up.

We decided to visit the Santa Cruz mountains vineyards instead of driving to Sonoma (been there). We picked Byington because we heard it had a view to Monterey Bay. I must have read the article wrong, it has a nice view of a valley and a few picnic tables to sit and enjoy the view. We walked behind the vineyard... More

Had a great picnic at the winery today. Enjoyed their Liage, a Sauvignon Blanc blend, a dry crisp wine with a touch of fruit. Delightfully paired with a 50 mile view of the entire Monterey Bay.

The views from Byington Winery are awe inspiring. The tasting room is well appointed. The wines however are average at best. I would recommend a visit especially when the weather is nice.
