I saw the new Star Wars movie here and the show was fantastic! It’s a beautiful theatre and they put on additional entertainment before each show, in this case an organist playing live star wars music then an amazing laser effects show before the screening. Highly recommend.

We came here to see The Force Awakens while visiting LA. I have never been in an balcony before at a movie theater so that was a neat experience. You get to pick your exact seats when you buy your tickets so if you book early enough, then you can sit anywhere. The laser light show before was strange, animatronic... More

I've always wanted to take my kids to the famous El Capitan theatre for a Disney show. I've read and seen on YouTube other pre shows openings done in Disney style. The organist playing was a treat. We had gone on a Sunday 1st showing which wasn't crowded at all, might be the fact the Star Wars opened 2 weeks... More

If you are a big Disney fan, then this is were you should see their movies. They do special things for the movies. We saw Star Wars, and they had a nice laser show with music just before the actual movie. They also had props from the movie around to look at. There are Mickey pretzels and Disney themed items.... Historic. Legendary. Beautiful. A true piece of Hollywood history. Seemingly unknown to the swaths of tourists passing by every day is that they offer tours for a little less than the price of a movie ticket. This is great if you want to see all inside the theater and do not have much time to sit and watch a movie.... More

This place makes me think of what it must have been like to see a film back in the 1930's, when a night at the movies was an event. The theater is breathtaking. The organist plays before every performance- so fun. Then the Disney parts, concession stands that are spotless, serving fresh popcorn without the mystery of how long it... More

I have always wanted to see a movie in this historic theater. Disney holds all of their movie premieres here including when Snow White and the Seven Dwarves came out. You get your tickets at the box office where you reserve your seats. They have orchestra and balcony seats available and a regular ticket was $18. I believe they only... More

We've gone to many movies at the El Capitan Theatre. its a historic theater that usually shows Disney movies. its fun to go early enough to listen to the organ as well. This grand theatre made its debut on May 3, 1926,

We saw nightmare before Christmas 4d on Halloween night. Amazing classic theatre. We first got our picture taken in front of backdrop. Got our vip popcorn and 20oz soda. Were seated at our assigned seats. The theatre has balconies and a guy dressed as the phantom playing an actual pipe organ. He played all kinds of classic disney songs. He... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
