Beautiful restored theater right in the heart of the Hollywood strip. We took the kids to see Maleficent there in 3D and had a good time. The ticket price was pretty typical for a 3D feature but a bit high if you don't usually spring for the 3D option. There was no 2D option. We did not opt for the... More

The theatre has been beautifully restored. This includes the organ which is used to entertain guests prior to the show. I recommend going to your seat early to listen and watch the skill of the organist. Disney makes viewing their movies in this theatre special. You can set costumes and set pieces from the show. The usually have some form... More

Came to see Maleficent here with VIP tickets, I booked front row a few weeks back so didn't have to worry about finding a good seat! I could see perfectly so very happy. To americans this may seem expensive but coming from the uk with a good exchange rate, popcorn and a drink its cheaper to see a film here... More

Thank you Disney for restoring this beautiful theater. It reminded me of the theaters I have seen in Europe. I guess we went to see Maleficent at the right time because we paid for general admission, which I though was very reasonable, walked in, and choose our seats in the balcony section, without a long wait, or problem finding a... Expensive tickets, long line outside in the heat, horrible customer service. I bought my tickets online in advance to see Maleficent (good movie) and there were lines wrapping around, they need assigned seating because it was a freakin mad house, the attendants act as if it was a free show they were incredibly rude, and what is the deal with... if you like Disney movies and have kids this is the place to take them, there is often a show before the screening. Sumptuous decor linked to the history of the place, once a masonic temple, opera theater and paramount theater prior to being a Disney Theater

This theatre has been completely renovated by the Walt Disney Company, and it is a great and beautiful place to see a first-run or classic movie - usually with some fantastic pre-show and an amazing organ! A little pricey, but it's a real event when you come here. Try it - then you'll get it.

I lived here almost three years before I finally took my kids to see a movie at the El Capitan Theatre. Why did I wait so long!! First off, the ticket prices were very reasonable considering the cost of your average neighborhood theater. We have a family of 6, so we opted for general seating and got to the theater... More

Before Disney bought the El Capitan, it was run down and tired. But with a big cash infusion, Disney restored the El Capitan to its former glory. Although it only shows Disney produced films, the El Capitan is a reminder of Hollywood's "Golden Age", when theater palaces reigned supreme...before the advent of the "Cracker Jacks" multiplex theaters. The theater itself... More

Maybe it's because I'm a huge Muppet fan, but seeing Muppets Most Wanted here was incredible. First of all, the theater is stunning. I couldn't get over the beauty of the old place. Then before the movie started Kermit and Miss Piggy actually gave a live performance. I've never seen anything like it before. They sang about four songs and... More
