Took the express tour today, with the friendliest and most informative tour guide. I recommend this inexpensive tour to anyone that wants to find out more about Hollywood, the film industry and of course Disney films! Thanks again Doug!

This movie theater is really high class. It is so beautiful and the general admission seats are really great. The organ player performance was fantastic and song selection was really wonderful and all the kids sang along! The ushers and staff are super friendly and helpful especially when you have kids with you. Extremely easy public parking and with the... More

This was one of the great movie palaces of Los Angeles--huge, elaborate fantasies created in the days when moviegoing was a theatrical experience. It was restored with the help of the late, great theater designer, Joe Musil. From the gorgeous sign to the beautiful interior, it is a feast for the eyes. The live organist performing before the movie is... More

Just seeing this historic building from outside is something but wait till you go inside. This looks like a classic movie theater and just like the Chinese Theater opposite, there is a feeling of being transported to a different time and place. Not as grand as the IMAX theater at the Chinese theater, but still quite a stunner. Like the... More

This theater is amazing for all ages, but I have especially enjoyed taking the kids to the Disney's openers etc... They go all out, to my your experience like no other. It is just a great place for old time family fun,.

We took a tour of the building and it was well worth it. The General Manager was engaging and left us feeling like we had been privy to some of the Hollywood magic, We were shown all of the buildings backstage areas and given plenty of photo opportunities. The ability to be taken to the dressing room of Bob Hope,... More

We visited El Capitan on Christmas Day, to see "Into the Woods." The price was in line with an Arclight theatre, and we wanted to make the day special. I was not prepared for HOW incredible the experience is. As others have mentioned, the organist plays all kinds of Disney standards and the time to the movie just flies by,... More

I loved sitting in this beautiful and historic theatre waiting for "Into the Woods" to begin when, to our surprise, a magnificent organ and even more magnificent organist rose out of the floor. He played Disney themes and -- I assume because it was the Christmas season -- "Hallelujah!" His amazing performance lasted about an hour before he took a... More

My husband and I had a quick first time visit to Hollywood. He said that since he was in Hollywood, he wanted to see a movie. Since we are big Disney fans, we wanted to see the interior of the El Capitan theatre. While there, we noticed that they had a special price for seniors. $10 for seniors. We bought... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
