We saw nightmare before Christmas 4d on Halloween night. Amazing classic theatre. We first got our picture taken in front of backdrop. Got our vip popcorn and 20oz soda. Were seated at our assigned seats. The theatre has balconies and a guy dressed as the phantom playing an actual pipe organ. He played all kinds of classic disney songs. He... More

Disney now owns this classic Hollywood landmark which has ensured that is well preserved for everyone (paying customers) to visit. I went to a special 4D Halloween session of the "Nightmare Before Christmas" and enjoyed the atmosphere of this beautiful venue including the caped organ player who was belting out the spooky tunes prior to the film. Sound and FX... More

Watching a movie in this theatre is a really fun experience! Lots of nostalgic elements! Do go early to wander around the venue, and also to enjoy the live organ performance before the screening! It was showing Hocus Pocus when I visited, and I stumbled upon a Hocus Pocus exhibit in the basement!

We went and watched Aladin on the big screen while we were in Hollywood. It was a lot of fun. Great atmosphere. We watched from the balcony which I recommend because upstairs they have alot of historical pics from previous movie premiers. Plus the Disney soda fountain right next door to get ice cream right after.

A must to see a film while in Hollywood. We took the kids to see Kevin Costner's new movie McFarland. The whole experience was wonderful, from the staff in ticket sales, concessions, our seats, our view, everything. The gorgeous display featured in the theatre at the time, was for the upcoming Disney movie, Cinderella. One of the staff took the... More

Disney was running Aladdin and I've never seen it in a theater. Great old theater with balcony seating and good concession stands. All of the employees were nice and helpful. Movie started on time and there was even a pre-show by the Genie. Seeing a movie here was cheaper than my regular theater at home.

Love the exterior, the shining signage, very Broadway feel. Can't miss it when you drive by the theater. 2 floors theater, not too big, every seat is a good seat. Very well maintained and all... Went to see Frozen Sing-A-Long. General admission tickets $10 for kids, $11 for adults. There were not that many people there so VIP reserved seats really not needed (1pm showing on a Friday). We sat near the front for the live action parts. We got covered in the fake snow which fell which was fun. They had sound issues with... More

Before there was Blockbuster, Netflix and Cable TV there were these great film palaces where the "event" was far more than the film, Attending any movie here was a great social event by itself. We totally enjoyed this beautiful cathedral of American history. The ambience transcends everything else on an evening of great film and Hollywood nostalgia.

Thank you Disney for preserving this magnificent venue. $18 to see this place, hear a magnificent theatre organ, and watch a fun 3D shown and the brilliant "Inside Out" is a bargain. Sound system simply amazing.

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
