We took the kids to see Inside Out, was a gorgeous theatre, the pre movie performance was a new experience for us but we all loved the dancers and the 3D effects. It costs a bit more and the seats etc are pretty original but I felt that this all added to the character of the place. We loved our... More

It's Hollywood, crowded and crowded. Parking available in parking lot at the mall across the street and after validation it costs $2. Not bad for garage parking. The theatre has the old vintage vibe. Pretty cool. Staff friendly and they do their best to keep things (line and concession) moving. Handicap accessible in theatre and restroom access. Price a little... More

We saw Tomorrow land, with George Clooney. Before the show was a live stage performance, very entertaining and clever. The venue is exquisite, ornate old and lovely to watch a show in.

This is one of my favorite theaters to go to. I've seen "Tomorrowland", "Chronicles of Narnia" and "Alice In Wonderland" here. Usually they decorate the foyer and auditorium to go along with the movie being shown. They also have an Organist before the show as well as a small live show. The theatre is beautiful and the staff are all... More

We had a great time! The architecture in this theatre was profound! We saw an interactive, magic show; and the feature film Tomorrowland which we thoroughly enjoyed!

Well maintained classic theater. Owned by Disney. Staff was friendly and there was a short magician show before the movie for no extra charge. It's clean but not as ornate as some classic restored theaters I've been to.

I was able to see a movie premiere with an entertaining show and interview with the movie's producer, music composer and other crew. A wonderful evening of movie magic in this beautiful historic theatre.

Hubby has wanted to visit the El Capitan for awhile now, but the last 2 times we've been in LA it just didn't work out. Were driving over from AZ on the weekend "The Avengers - Age of Ultron" was released, when he had the great idea of seeing it at the El Capitan. Called from the car, spoke to... More

We went on a Tuesday at noon. Like having our personal theater. Fantastic restoration and beautiful ornamentation. We watched The Avengers Age of Ultron in 3D.

It's lots of fun and would recommend if your a movie fan. It a very nice nostalgic theatre with live music. The price might be a turn off for some being about twice the price of a regular theatre, but being a one time visit we were pleased we went. It only plays one movie and if a fan then... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
