We saw The Muppets at the El Capitan On New Year's Day 2012 and couldn't have been more impressed. We purchased our tickets in advance in order to pick the best seats and avoid any lining up before the show. It seems expensive but for the $20 per ticket we paid, we each got a bottled beverage and popcorn which... More

It was almost like going to the theatre, the film is "presented" to you for your enjoyment. Not expensive and worth a visit (even if you have seen the film before) More

We saw the Saturday matinee of Lady & the Tramp at El Capitan. It is beautifully restored inside & out. There is a pre-show with Mickey dancing. It was the usual hokey Disney but my kids liked it. There is also an organist before the show who is really amazing. Concessions are a little steep- aren't they always at the... More

While Hollywood Blvd was a huge disappointment (just a tacky busy street with some stars in the sidewalk), the El Capitan Theatre was a treat. It cost $10 to park across the street in the huge parking structure. We went to see Beauty and the Beast in 3D. It was worth spending the $25 for the reserved seats as they... More

I love to take my daughter and her friends when Disney re-releases movies. The theater was built in the 1930's and is ornate throughout. They always have some type of pre-show prior to the movie such as confetti shooting from the ceiling or a visit from a princess. This truly brings back the movie experience from Hollywood's Golden Age. More

This is a Hollywood experience. Many times, before a show - the Disney Characters, or characters from a movie - The Cars, The Muppets, etc will be on hand to walk a red carpet, or perform on stage before the film. The organ player is great, and it gives you an experience of long ago, when organs were integral to... More

Went here with 3 toddlers 5 and under and saw beauty and the beast in 3D. They have character(s) that come out on stage prior to the movie and welcome you. the kids seemed to enjoy wearing the 3D glasses while watching the film. The theatre only shows disney movies and is kid friendly (stroller parking, booster seats, etc) great... More
