I absolutely love going to movies and the Arclight in Hollywood is my favorite cinema. I think the biggest difference is that it tends to attract customers that also love movies and that follow proper cinema etiquette. I like that the staff is always on hand to help and that they make a personal announcement prior to the start of... More

Real butter, assigned seating, a personal guide---Archlight in a quite a bit removed from AMC in terms of multiplex quality. Highly recommended if you find yourself with the time and inclination to see a movie.

With L.A. traffic being a detriment, I recommend catching a movie at the ARCLIGHT Hollywood, then having a cocktail and a bite at their cafe. The food is good, not great. But, the comfort and ease of staying in one place makes the experience worthwhile. If you want to save on parking, leave and reenter the parking if you're staying... More

The seats are reserved…the screen is huge and the quality of the sound and screen is a source of pride…it is a movie lovers theatre. The emcee observes for rule violations during the screening so rude selfish people cannot disrupt the experience for the whole audience…no one is using their phone, no one is talking excessively…etc…these are problematic now in... Must go to the Sherman Oaks one. Hollywood location is pretty good, but more nostalgic. Dolby Atmos and Arc Light Carmel corn are a great combination.

The clientele are true movie-goers and appreciate the common courtesies involved in public viewing of movies. Never have any issues with obnoxious people and the seats are very comfortable. The bar and the snack food is pretty good, so plan on going at least 30 minutes early to whet your appetite for a good movie. Plenty of parking and validated.

The Arclight Cinemea's are my favorite. The Seats are comfortable, popcorn freshly popped and most importantly, the screens and film quality are top shelf. Also, reservations and seat choices are avalialbe on line.

We saw American Sniper here and had a great time. The seats are very comfortable (we were in the regular theater not the Dome). The sounds and picture quality were great. Good popcorn served with real butter (on request). The staff is very friendly and helpful.

The theater itself is excellent with comfy seats and plenty of room. We weren't familiar with the ticketing process. There isn't a ticketing booth, so we had to ask and were directed toward two ticketing machines. The machines weren't working well, but we eventually were able to buy our tickets.

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
