I went to the Standard in Hollywood. Nice trendy place. Had a live Mannequin that people weren't allowed to take pictures of. They were preparing for a private event. So we... read more

High price for a, not that exciting, time. According to the locals we spoke to this was the place because of the view. The view was decent but the $20/person entry wasn't.

PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! These people are racist and very selective on who they let in. I was discriminated based on the way I looked along with my 5 other friends. They claimed our "Illinois" ID's were "fake" but they didn't even have an ID scanner! Fernando Quinones (aka the manager, which I honestly think was not... More

I went to the Standard in Hollywood. Nice trendy place. Had a live Mannequin that people weren't allowed to take pictures of. They were preparing for a private event. So we didn't stick around because nothing was really going on. Will give this place another chance the next time I come to LA

Its time for the Standard to set a new standard. The cool crowd have long long gone. Staff should relax and treat every guest as someone important. Other than that clean and still Old style cool!

The Standard Downtown is a great hotel option in Downtown LA. There's a lot to do at the hotel itself (eat/drink at the biergarten, lounge by the pool, eat at the 24 hour diner, get a haircut, play ping pong). If you want to explore the neighborhood there are also a lot of restaurant options within walking distance. The rooms... More

If u want a room to party in, this is the best hotel. You can play music as loud as you want all night long. The room are huge enough that you can have a party of 20 in your room

We didn't stay here and I was glad we stayed at the W. We came here for drinks at the rooftop bar and it was a lovely setting for a few cocktails. Prices weren't too outrageous considering the rooftop location and its really worth a trip!

If you are 20 and want to party all night, this is the place for you. If you are looking for a place to sleep, forget it. Dance music from the clubs can be heard and felt in the room. Noisy guests arriving in the late hours.

Excellent hotel and of a really high standard. Large comfortable room, excellent staff, great rooftop pool and bars. Food prices are high but really what you would expect of a 4*. Car parking is also not that cheap but is really convienient and, again, great staff. It is worth paying the little more to have the convienience and your car... More

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
