Established in 1934, when a dozen local farmers parked their trucks on an open field (once a dairy farm) to sell fresh produce to local residents, the Market has remained true to its roots ever since. With nearly 100 dining, shopping and grocery opportunities, Farmers Market has something for everyone. More than seventy-five years later the Farmers Market remains the one stop shop for every visitor’s needs.

Come to this market hungry and you'll find plenty of choices. I had a burrito in one of the several Mexican stalls and while it wasn't brilliant, it was good value for money. Grab a frozen banana at one of the ice cream stalls as well and enjoy it as you walk around the market. Make sure to get your... More

During a family trip, we stopped here and had a bite to eat (each from a different vendor). Everything was very good - it was nice that we could each get what we wanted and still eat together. We also picked up healthy snacks for the road (we were leaving the area the next day) before going to the mall... More

We visited here on a bus tour and I wish we would have had more time. There is a farmer's market but SO much more. There are restaurants all around the perimeter. We ordered from four different places and shared the food. There are all kinds of little shops with every goody you can imagine, too many to list. Plan... More

So much to do and great people watching! We ate at a Monsieur Marcel, one of our favorite places to eat there and Bob's donuts are great! There is a huge variety of places to eat and enjoy there.

Last visit was nearly 40 years ago when we lived in LA. Was surprised to find it pretty much as I fondly recalled, only bigger. Fruit and vegetable stands galore with excellent quality products at fair prices.Gourmet fish and meat markets have multiplied over the years and offer traditional and new cuisine choices. Many curio shops present with the usual... More

A lot to buy, fresh meat and fruit. Also a lot to eat, different variety of food. A classic farmers market, reasonable price. Go and try the corned beef sandwiches which taste really good, each bite of sandwich, you will receive a full mouth of corned beef.

This isn't Rodeo drive, it's better. If you like shopping this is a good place to go. Didn't try any of the restaurants. Honestly, it looked a bit too dirty in the section for restaurants for me to eat.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Farmers Market. Not only is there a lot of food on offer, but there is a lot of 'top quality' food on offer. The variety is huge, but the quality level seems to be high throughout all market stalls. I discovered some great root beer varieties here (I love a good root beer) as... More

Hopped off here after riding the bus around town on our first day in town to get a lay of the land. Tons of great and interesting options. I'd recommend not coming hungry as it's easy to get overwhelmed by all the choices. Hope to get back here before our trip is over.

The Market is a great stop for shopping for meals, food preparation items (fresh fruits, vegatables, meats and fish), beverages and just for experiencing a different venue in LA. Every type of person gets to the market, so it is great people watching at one of the tables in the open space between the stores. A must go if you... More
