Established in 1934, when a dozen local farmers parked their trucks on an open field (once a dairy farm) to sell fresh produce to local residents, the Market has remained true to its roots ever since. With nearly 100 dining, shopping and grocery opportunities, Farmers Market has something for everyone. More than seventy-five years later the Farmers Market remains the one stop shop for every visitor’s needs.

I am admittedly a self described farmer's market junkie and visiting these destinations is one of my favorite past times whenever I travel around the country. The L.A. Farmers Market has a rich and interesting history which is not reflected by what you see there today. The fresh produce stands had nice displays but the numbers of stands were small.... More

An excellent selection of different treats. We enjoyed the granita with latte and cocoa. We had a nice lunch of seafood salad. So many places to eat

This is what I'd been looking for in the States since arriving: lots of fresh food and dining options! A great range of foods for sale from healthy to not so healthy. It is next to the Grove which has higher prices, so it was great to be able to find more affordable options. An outdoor market with lots of... More

Lot and lots of small shops and eateries. Clean and safe. Next to massive high end Grove shopping area. Has a friendly feel to place. Lots of visitors.

What a fun place to take a group from Michigan. So many food choices and so many shops and things to look at. Wow. Some of the people in my group didn't understand that they needed to go in and walk a little deeper in the area. Those that did listen to me had a super great time. If your... More

When my friend offered to take us for a quick stop at the farmers' market, I expected more Birkenstocks and home made apple pies than a place that teemed with energy and wannabe supermodels. It was great fun just walking around and looking at everyone's style, and was definitely worth the detour! My friend took us to The Gumbo Pot,... More

Enjoyed this visit but not overly impressed. Many eating places and shops, all of which seemed a little overpriced. All of us had different meals and not one of them was outstanding. Food quality mediocre.

Visited earlier today, part of a tour stopover. Great food, good cold beer and friendly atomsphere....only downside was that I wasn't able to stay for longer...happy hour..3pm onwards. Lots of foodstuffs to tryout...definitely want to return...

A lot of reasonable priced food options, pizza, sandwiches, ethnic food, beer and wine, coffee and desserts. Parking for two hours is free if you get the ticket validated by one of the Farmers Market merchants. Parking is very costly if you stay beyond the validated 2 hour limit. There is something for everyone when it comes to browsing the... More
