Established in 1934, when a dozen local farmers parked their trucks on an open field (once a dairy farm) to sell fresh produce to local residents, the Market has remained true to its roots ever since. With nearly 100 dining, shopping and grocery opportunities, Farmers Market has something for everyone. More than seventy-five years later the Farmers Market remains the one stop shop for every visitor’s needs.

We decided to visit the market as we were touring on a open top bus which stops right outside and we were not disappointed. The market was bustling and the food smells were amazing. We couldn't believe the amount of choice that was available to us from Chinese to Gumbo dishes, it took us a long time to choose and... More

Disappointing to say the least. Found very little fresh food. Not cheap. (Newcastle Farmers' Markets a 100 times better!) So different to first visit many years ago. Was looking forward to buying some fresh fruit. So not worth doing. Wasn't in the mood to sit at dirty plastic table and chairs to eat so passed on ordering anything. Many stalls... More

This bustling, historic Farmers Market has to be one of my all time favorites. Bursting with delicious food, markets, and people, it's well worth a visit - or three. You'll want to come back again and again as you just can't try ALL THE THINGS in one visit!

Every thing could possibly want. Great for lunch and to purchase something to cook for dinner. Fresh local foods and delicious imported items.

This was certainly worth the trip to LA alone! We loved this spot and all the lovely foods and things it had on offer. we had an awesome feed there and would have loved more time (a whole day at least) there.

My wife and I had lunch at the food stall called "Singapore's Banana Leaf". We both ordered the "Laksa noodles". This was the worst laksa noodles we have ever had. It was pathetic. However, the shops along the main street and the whole area itself are worth visiting.

Great shops, amazing variety of food stalls at a shopping bonanza that is more like an outdoor mall than a farmstand market. You could stroll and graze for an entire afternoon!

I had Korean BBQ and loved it. Wish I had room for Thai. Surprised it wasn't bigger but glad it wasn't.

Just a fantastic place to visit and grab some quick food to please everyone in your party. There are all kinds of shops and eateries around this place, as no one in my party was not happy with this visit. Of course there is also plenty of fruits and vegetables around for sale as well. A must stop in downtown... More
