If you're into comedy and in Los Angeles, this place is a legendary must-see. Very small, intimate and sells out quickly. Very major talent brewing here as well as the best popular names in comedy.

This is my favorite comedy theater in LA. They don't do comedy store style tables with minimums. Instead its small, dark, and dive-y with theater style seating. Its also BYOB. Assscat & the Facebook shows are my favorite. I also go to the Doug Loves Movies podcast recording here with comedian Doug Benson. He always has awesome guests. Famous comedians... More

Went to the ASSSCATS show on a Sat. night. It was great! Tickets were not very expensive, I think around $10. The players did a great job. Very funny, very entertaining. Get there early, and get in line, as seating is general admission. They do a great job of getting everyone seated. We got to sit in the front row.... More

First night in LA (August 2013) and the $10 improv comedy was able to help me get through my jet lag. Very high quality humor and walking distance from Hollywood.

I've been going to shows at the UCB for years. There are some off the wall shows and people still honing their skills during the week, but if you go to any of the hugely popular shows, you'll be amazed at how skilled and hilarious the improvisers are. The AS--CAT show on Saturday nights is great -- often the founding... More

We watched ASSSSCAT and it was awesome! I have seen a few improv shows in the past, but these players were really funny. I recommend getting there early and sitting in the center for a better view of the players. My biggest gripes: It was uncomfortably hot and they don't serve alcohol.

This is a great comedy club. It's in a small black box theatre, with proscenium seating, along with 4 rows on either side of stage. We sat on the side and had a fine view, but I would recommend sitting in the center if possible. The theatre doesn't open up until show time, so a line forms in front of... More

My husband and I went to the UCB during our stay in Los Angeles for a few nights not expecting much. The reviews are amazing, but as with any comedy club, we were expecting a couple laughs here and there, but the UCB was different (in a good way) from what we were used to in Las Vegas. We went... UCB is legendary in Hollywood for launching careers of writers, and comedic performers. If you want to experience sketch comedy like a local in Hollywood, skip the others and check out UCB. It's a smaller venue, but tickets are generally available online, and it's a guaranteed good time without the steep cover charges and drink minimums.

Cheap & fun. The show was in 2 parts. We enjoyed the 1st part best which had 6 players doing a variety of sketches, the 2nd part was not so great due to gross factor. But they are all working out ideas so it was still pretty fun and all for $5.
