I am an artist and designer, and I LOVE this place! There's books for almost every pop culture art subject under the sun. There's an art gallery. There's weird chinese made plastic toys to buy for that hard-to-buy-for person. This place is inspiration, a gift shop, and a book store. I can easily spend hours looking at the merchandise and... I wish I could buy every book - not to mention the trinkets and toys and kitsch. Everytime I visit LA I make a pilgrimage to Wacko. It is over the top cool. The art gallery is the added bonus. I just love this place

Basically the most rad shopping experience I've ever had. If you like kitsch, lowbrow, pop culture, animal bones or the unusual, you'll enjoy spending time here.

You can spend hours here looking at the cool books, retro toys and other vintage stuff. Plus you get a great art gallery. Skip Hollywood and go here. This place is amazing. Friendly staff.

One of my favorite hangs in LA has always been Wacko/SoapPlant/La Luz de Jesus.I have been coming here sine I was little and it's a cool place to take friends/family who are visiting or want a true LA experience. The storefront is colorful and welcoming .Step inside and you will be overwhelmed with wonder and curiosity.A vast selection of beautiful... More

I’ve been a regular patron of Wacko/ La Luz de Jesus Gallery since it first opened on Melrose back in… well, the 1980’s. Since that time the place has remained true to itself and offers the only place I know where I can find the most unusual, unique items for the twisted sick-sad mind of which I’m one. I highly...
