The highlight of our visit to LA was Hargo's LA Active beach adventure tour. Because we love the outdoors we chose this nature-inspired tour. Hargo is well informed and planned our visit to El Matador Beach at just the right time so we could take full advantage of low tide, allowing us to explore tidal pools and caves. We stopped... More

My husband and I are local to southern California (Long Beach - so in relative terms, close enough). We always take out of towners to "see" the Hollywood sign via drive-by, but the Hollywood Sign Adventure tour was so much more about the history and some of the hidden gems of Los Angeles. In the middle of the tour, I... More

When I booked this tour I was expecting a group hike through the hills of Hollywood with glimpses of the Hollywood Sign. What we got was basically a private tour (by luck only) from a knowledgable and passionate guide. I was expecting a typical "LA" guide full of bravado and stories of celebrity whereas Hargo seems to genuinely be interested... More

I can't speak highly enough of Hargo and the wonderful tour he gave me of the Beachwood area around the Hollywood sign. Despite the two other participants cancelling, Hargo still took me on the tour and shared a wealth of knowledge about the area and surrounding native plants and trees. Hargo is a friendly, personable guide with a genuine love... More

This was one of the hardest hikes i have ever been on, but totally worth it. Hargo really knows what he is talking about and he is very educated on this surroundings. I have lived in the Hollywood area for the majority of my life but I didn't know 10% of what Hargo taught me. This was an awesome experience... More

What agreat way to get a taste of Hollywood. The guide (who is Very well informed) takes you back to the old Hollywood. I'm a local who enjoyed this very much but think it would be more aprreciated by out of towners. Geat hike for medium age kids and up also. There are quite a few stairs, but the tour... More

We did the Hollywood Hills/Sign hike. The stairs around that neighborhood are killers. So I would not recommend this to someone who is not in decent physical shape. But it is a nice hike, lots of views of the Hollywood sign and interesting homes, some of which are/were owned by famous people. Hargo picks you up at a location convienent... More

Hargobind (Hargo) Singh is the best! I did the Hollywood Sign Adventure hike with Hargo in March and it was very interesting. I was surprised to learn so much history about the Hollywood sign and the surrounding area. This hike is physically demanding. You will climb over 800 steps and several hills by the end of this hiking tour so... More

What a great hike! I bought a group on and brought a friend. We were the only ones on the tour - 8am is the time to go! it was nice and cool - you'll get sweaty doing all those stairs! Hargo is very knowledgeable and sweet. It's a great tour from start to finish with lots of information. THis... More

We just finished the Hidden Adventure's tour and saw areas that no tour bus takes you. And if they do, it is for just a few minutes. With LA Active Adventures, Guide/Owner Hargo, lets you stay at these beautiful spots and tells you all about the areas, from it's history, it's plant life and current facts as well. He drives... Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
