60 years ago, Solvang was a cute little town, but those decades of tourism have resulted in a campy imitation of an attractive Scandinavian town. From the newer subdivisions of fake Tudor homes to the weekend crowds waiting for a table at cafes to the unappealing "Danish" bakeries, this town was a total disappointment. Hi, Just to clarify this village is a DANISH, village not dutch. There is a big difference. Its wonderful and amazing culture about the danish people. Spectacular food, and language. Highly recommended !

Solvang is just like a small Danish town, full of restaurants and pastrie shops. It was nicely decorated for Christmas. We visited the wine country and enjoyed wine tasting. On the other hand Santa Barbara, with its beautiful coastline, the Mission, etc, is a great place to visit.

Took a day trip to Solvang traveling from Santa Barbara. Beautiful and short drive from Santa Barbara. A wonderful tourist town with good restaruants and shopping. Very much enjoyed the wine bars.
