The Pantages Theatre is a lovey older theatre that has nice architecture, and puts on many different performances through out the year. It is very convenient to get to if riding the Metrorail. The Metrorail will drop you off right across the street from the Pantages Theatre. No parking worries or fees to be paid. Many restaurants in the area,... More

It would be worth a visit to the Pantages to sit in it empty. It has been restored and is in constant as a live theater where it was originally built to show movies. It personifies the Bollywood of the 30's on. The ceiling in the theater is remarkable. The only knock is that for the intimacy that live theater... More

This is old LA at its finest. The acoustics are great, the surroundings are spectacular, and you feel as if you are in old Hollywood. A total hoot.

This is the 3rd time we have been to this theatre. Each time has been great. We saw MaMa Mia, for my daughters 18th birthday. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. This was our first time sitting in the balcony so a little worried about the view of the stage but it was great. The lady in front of... More

We always love seeing shows here as the venue is a classic theater and there are really no bad seats. Plus the trip here and the parking for Valley residents like us is relatively painless even on a Saturday night. Bullets over Broadway was amazing, especially the dancing. Simply outstanding choreography and dance performances! The rest of the show was... More

I love The Pantages. Having lived in New York for 23 years, I miss it like crazy. But when I walk into this theatre, I feel just like I'm back home in New York. The soaring, painted ceilings, the festooned staircases, the velvet...and that beautiful stage! I last saw "Bullets Over Broadway" there and the caliber of the production was... More

I was a little reticent about seeing the show after reading a poor critical review in the Times. A musical derived from the Woody Allen movie turned out to be great night out. The star of the show though was the theatre itself. Built in the 1930s at a time when dozens of theatres were built across LA, to feed... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
