If you want somewhere quiet and romantic to go on your trip the Getty is the place to go! It gives you views of the city and you can even see the ocean from up there. Not to mention the beautiful gardens and exhibits that are also on the grounds. I was able to spend 3 hours there and could've... more

Subject: J. Paul Getty Center The Getty Centre is quite simply stunning. A strangely quiet funicular railway glides you up to the hilltop centre overlooking LA. AS you walk up to the entrance you sense that you're in for a treat. The information st aff couldn't be more helpful. Then you move out and into the complex which just takes... more

Splendid asymmetrical contemporary architecture. As you walk the grounds the buildings change as you change viewing locations. In late afternoon when the light changes, that adds drama and new dimensions. Beautiful gardens. Good cafe. Excellent restaurant. The first time we visited, we took an architectural tour then spent the remainder of the day eating lunch and enjoying the gardens -... more

If you think LA is a town without soul or "real" culture, then think again. Check out the Getty Center (free admission) and see some of the world's finest art in one of the world's most beautifully designed museums. But the art isn't the only thing to see. Chill out in the beautiful gardens and just let the whole experience... more

The Getty Center is a must visit spot if you have some time to spend in LA. The location of the center itself is a good enough reason to pay this center a visit. Parking is $15 but the Getty itself is free for visitors. You park the car at the base of the mountain in the Getty Parking lot... more

With both permanent and temporary art exhibitions, beautiful garden and stunning architecture my Richard Meier, the Getty center is a great place to spend a day. I have visited several times and every time discovered something new. Definitely bring sunglasses (the white stone of the buildings and the paved courtyard are blinding in the sun). The snack bar is overpriced,... more

The Getty Center museum is a must-see for LA-area visitors. It consists of a whole campus of buildings and gardens and courtyards overlooking the Sepulveda pass, and everywhere you look there's another lovely vista, often deliberately framed by the architect. We spent four hours, most of it enjoying the outdoors. It would probably take a week to take in all... more

The Getty Center is a great way to spend a relaxing day! The location provides spectacular views of the city and the gardens are beautiful! The artwork and rooms remind me of what you would see in Europe. The Getty particularly reminded me of Versailles! So beautiful! The artwork and sculptures are a must see. The cafes are a little... more
