This was amazing! I took the Helter Skelter Tour, which follows the path and tells the story of the Manson Family and the Tate/LaBianca murders of 1969. The tour visits dozens of hotspots involved in the case as well as other local gems from the era -- all from the comfort and safety of an air-conditioned passenger van. But the... More

We took the tour with Brian on May 30th. It was without a doubt the best tour we have been on. He was very informative and interactive. He kept everyone in stitches and learned a lot, too. I would definitely recommend this tour company. Their museum was quite interesting too. Thanks for the great afternoon and we will do another... More

Dearly Departed's Hollywood Tragical History Tour was a wildly fun way to see Los Angeles. The tour guide (Richard) was full of lots of great information about the seedier side of the city. We got to see lots of great old Hollywood architecture and the sites of some of the sadder stories of tinseltown. A great way to spend a... More

Found this tour through online recommendations and was not disappointed. The guys are so helpful and really interesting to listen to. They help bring the colorful history and locations of L.A. to life through the macabre stories and facts they provide (it’s not all doom and gloom though!). Cannot express enough how much my family enjoyed this tour. Really great... More

We booked the tour based on seeing the tour buses around as well as the netflix documentary. The events happened before my time, and I knew the basics but the information we came out with was phenomenal and amazing. A thoroughly wonderful tour with a frie dly, knowledgeable guide. The bus was comfortable and windows big enough to see everything.... More

If you visit Hollywood - do yourself a favor and book the helter skelter tour with Scott Micheals! I traveled from San Fran to LA in a week and did tours non-stop but none equaled the personal attention and excitement and knowledge base than Scott! We actually traveled the exact route the Manson Killers took that fateful week in the... More

A friend of mine and myself had to find a tour to try when we were out in LA. We came across this one thinking we'd get some basic info on some stars that passed. Brian, our tour guide definitely knows his stuff! We had a blast on this tour, he had us laughing all the time. You'll be driving... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
