There are lots of tour buses in LA and surrounding areas but we picked this one because it was a beautiful day and we sat up on the top and could really see the sites great. The other reason we picked this one is there are different bus routes and you can get off and back on and go wherever... More

While, in theory, a great way to explore LA, the hop on hop off tours were more restricting than expected. They gave some pretty interesting commentary on the sights, but other than that I would say not worth it. The tour was slow, and somewhat boring. I'd suggest instead to purchase a TAP card and explore the city on your... More

We are jaded locals who decided to give it a try. Good decision. Andrew Williams was our tour guide. He has a good sense of humor, he's informative and kinda quirky. He had "visuals" and music to get us all into the mood. He's got a good presentation and likes to wave his hands when he talks. When other tour... More

It was an easy Metro ride from my hotel so got to the location earlier then expected. They have then entire block setup to buy tickets. Because I was early did the Walk of Fame and also the hand prints in front of the theatre. Turns out that was about the first 35 minutes of the tour. Guide was knowledgeable.... More

We booked the 4 hour 'Hollywood City and Movie Stars Homes' (9.30-1.30). We were told to arrive at the Chinese Theatre at 9am - 30 mins prior to departure. We did this and as we had half hour to fill in, we spent the time exploring the Hollywood Walk of Fame. At 9.35 we were taken out the back of... More

Dissappointing from beginning to end. It started with the unfortunate decision of choosing the hotel pick up option. A snail drive from multiple hotels and motels to start and finish the day. We did two tours. First the stars homes. There are no "homes" - only walls, locked gates and even taller fences. It was late to start and finish.... More

we used our GO card for this, when I called to make reservations discovered you could only use the card at the Santa Monica Pier location, not the Hollywood Blvd location, so made reservations as recommended but when we arrrived were told that they were for stand-by,,,not real reservations, had to get a little snippy and call the card to... We booked the Move Stars Homes tour with Rodeo Drive Shopping, a combo tour! Firstly we called the offices as it was under 24hrs to the tour (as stated on their website, you must call) - I called the offices of Starline and the girl who answered was arguing wit me about the duration of the tour and then said... We took the 2 hour stars home tour on our first day in LA. This is the way to go if you want to see where celebs live - navigating the stars home maps was difficult and allows the driver to enjoy the sights too. Yeah you see a lot of bushes and fences/gates but it is still fun and... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
