A very small shop funded entirely by donation. The staff are quite knowledgeable about Mono Lake and the surrounding area. Nice selection of books, art. Some by local artists and authors. It's a small building in a tiny town, so don't blink or you'll miss it!

The Mono Lake Committee is responsible for saving Mono Lake. They have a great store with lots of information about Mono Lake and the activities the MLC is involved in. They deserve the support of everyone who enjoys the extraordinary treasure Mono Lake.

I think almost any book ever published about Mono County or Bodie is in this small center. Great selection and a helpful staff. Kids will enjoy the brine shrimp display, and probably want some sea monkeys afterward (which they do happen to sell). Right smack in the middle of town.

Mono Lake is an interesting place and the information center has trail with information on the lake and the vegetation. We took a nice evening walk along the trail. We did not spend anytime inside except to get the directions and a map before we left for Kings Canyon. The park people were very helpful.

The staff was very helpful in giving advise on local attractions and best way to get there. Nice variety of books and souveniers. Very nice restrooms if necessary before taking off to Mono Lake or Yosemite.

You can get lots of area information here, and wonderful books--even a beautifully curated shelf of contemporary fiction. All that and a bathroom and an outdoor sitting area too!
