Purchased five pedestrian tickets for ferry from Fisherman's Wharf to Sausalito - Ferry was 35 minutes late as loading all the cyclists had delayed the departure from Sausalito. Eventually boarded and enjoyed the views on the crossing until we were delayed for a further 40 minutes waiting off shore whilst another ferry was loaded with more cyclists at the only... More

When visiting the Bay Area we've always stayed across the Golden Gate Bridge in San Rafael. Taking the ferry into the city and staying out of the traffic is both fun and easy. Sit back and enjoy the ride with snacks and conversation. When you get into San Francisco you will be much more relaxed and ready for all the... More

A short trip to SF allows you to see the skyline from the water plus San Quentin, Angel Island, the Golden Gate Bridge, Bay Bridge and Richmond San Rafael Bridge and glimpse Alcatraz. There is a farmer's market on the weekend and lots of fun shops in the ferry building. Ouside the building there are street merchants and restaurants along... More

While visiting in the Bay area I found the ferry from Larkspur to be a great way to get to San Francisco without the hassle of driving or finding parking. The ferry ride was quick and the schedule allows for many options in each direction.

Functional yet enjoyable and certainly affordable way to get to San Francisco from the north side of Golden Gate Bridge. Multiple departure times throughout the day; inside and outside seating, provision for loading bicycles if that's your thing. Good idea to arrive at least 15mins prior to your desired departure time so you can square away your ticket purchase. That... More

Schedule, and ease of understanding the ticket process, make this great, even for tourists. It is a convenient way to get to Giants game as well, but you will arrive very shortly before First Pitch, so if you like to watch batting practice, it would be better to take the regular ferry to San Francisco, earlier in the day, and... For being born and raised in San Francisco, I never took the ferry to Sausalito. My parents went recently and said it was a nice ferry ride so we all decided to go during my recent visit back to San Francisco at the end of July. I was pleasantly surprised by the nice ride. I believe it was $21.50 round... More

The ferry runs multiple boats to either the Giants stadium or the Downtown area. Beats travel by car and then finding a parking place. There are buses, trolleys, BART, and even a petal driven rickshaw with knowledgeable drivers. Ours had a great personality.

Viewing San Francisco from the Bay is a must for any visitor. The tour boats from Fisherman's Wharf are cool, but your still packed in with your fellow tourists. The commuter ferries offer a great alternative. The Golden Gate ferries to Marin county have a lot to offer, Although the one to Sausalito can be over run with bicycles. The... More

Met up with our German friends in Larkspur and spent a day in San Francisco. This is the perfect way to do it.... no driving in crazy SF, no having to find a parking place, no exorbitant hotel parking fees in SF ($75/day seriously?). We stayed at the Courtyard and walked to the ferry, boarded in about 15 minutes, and... More
