This was my first time to the Palm Springs area so I wanted to include a couple of rounds of golf. I decided to play SilverRock as well as PGA West TPC Stadium Course. I am about a 14 handicap so I played from about 6,600 yards which is the right length for me. The course: SilverRock is amazing! The... More

This course is well maintained and owned by the city of La Quinta. The green fees are the most expensive in the area. The course is long with narrow fairways, sand everywhere, large waste areas, and plenty of water to get you in trouble. If you are a single digit handicapper you may enjoy this course, but if you are... More

Staff a little surly but it was early. The guys I was with were playing a little slow at first but the course was unfamiliar and a marshal was annoying but we left the guys behind us in the dust and he was still annoying. We ignored him and I really liked the challenges of the course. The marshal later... More

Food was good but we just had lunch while golfing. The only problem was they did not have a quick lunch order or a preorder for lunch when you came through. Our food when we got it was good but two groups had to go thru us.

SilverRock is a top notch championship layout that used to play host to the Bob Hope Desert tournament. It is tucked tight against the mountains in La Quinta and is a very challenging layout for even the best of players. Even though I played in February the course was in excellent condition. The entire layout is overseeded meaning it is... More

A most excellent golf course. All overseeded wall to wall except off course for the natural desert areas. Undulated greens, wide fairways. Nice scenery. Be careful on the back side. The sun sets on the other side of the mountain so it gets dark and cooler quicker. Really enjoyed this course. Use I said on another desert review, you get... More

This is a really beautiful course (5 stars). Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in mint condition. Scenic all throughout with a great design and tougher on the back nine. No houses on the course with generous fairways. Carts are equipped with GPS. Green fees are steep but you can get deals online. Also played PGA West (Greg Norman) which... More

Its definitely pretty. And not a house on the course....just all desert. Very challenging, even playing from the combo blue/white (yardage 6200), which is what a 12hc plays from. No wonder the pros didn't like it...yardage from the back tees is over 7,500. TONS of bunkers and narrow fairways, enough water to get in your way. Flat enough to make... More

Great course conditions, greens we perfect. This is a players course. But it seemed to be missing the scenic part, or something. It seemed flat and open. It was close to the mountain side but I just did not get the wow what a view feeling. Or this is such a great looking hole. Actually having some of the fairways... More
