It is really quite unbelievable that a course as remarkable as La Quinta Mountain is in the same facility as La Quinta Dunes. Nothing remarkable about this course. The Dunes are boring and it smells for about 12 of the 18 holes. I wouldn't pay 20 bucks to play this in the high season - not with everything else around.... More

Booked a last minute inexpensive tee time and golfed alone. That was the highlight of the day. Checking in the gentleman was stand offish. Bedside manner was terrible....did not provide any direction and this was my 1st time there. After getting my cart and directions to the 1st tee....looking at the tee box and fairway I was disappointed at the... More

Made our tee time via a local reservation service. It was not a busy day and we were playing fairly late, so were a bit surprised that they teamed us up with some last-minute arrivals. The starter made it a point to tell us that it is a very difficult Pete Dye design where PGA Q-school has been held. During... More

This course is very difficult and you must have a lot of balls with you. It is very scenic and the surrounding area is gorgeous. The course however has many many hazards and they are tough. You must place all of your drives just right or you will roll down the sloping fairways into water, rough and sinewy grass where... More

The greens are pretty protected and were pretty fast (10). The tall grass eats balls. Golfed late in the afternoon, got a bit windy towards the end of our round. Enjoyed.

My husband and I played the course on a Wednesday morning. The pace was good and the staff were great. The greens were very challenging with almost every one of them sloping away. It's a pretty course as are many in the California desert. Our green fee was $85.00 each which included the cart and the practice range. On Thursday,... More

The course has a very challenging layout and was fun to play. However, the course was almost entirely dormant and I'm not a fan of the brown look. Not a bad course if you find a cheap rate though.

Nice golf course, but greens were extremely hard and slow to putt on. Too expensive for this type of course. Slow play also made it hard to enjoy

The course was in great shape. It was a little hot, but hard to do anything about that in July. There was a Junior tournament happening on the Mountain Course and the staff was great to guide me onto the Dunes course to make for an easier day. Susan W. was awesome.

Loved this course. Enjoyed it so much that when I finished I played the front nine of the Mountain course. They didn't charge me for the extra holes. It was already over a hundred degrees. The only downside of the Dunes course is that there is no turn to stop for a beer or food.
