Oh boy is the previous reviewer correct! We were actually charged admission to this park plus one dollar for our dog. Just as we resigned ourselves to make the best of a bad situation and settled in to our picnic, the shooting began...first rifles and then what sounded like automatic weapons! We finished quickly and left having a chuckle at... More

Visited on a mild cloudy day. Place looks rather sad at this time of year. Water is horrible looking and swimming not allowed. Some sort of explosions/gunfire in the distance added to a very un -welcoming feeling. Grim might be a good word.

This is one of those off the beaten path places that is beautiful and different from the surrounding area. Pretty lake. Views. Great place for photographs. One section had a bunch of horseback riders and the aroma was pretty strong. Worth the ride and small car fee.

The lake is so-so, but enjoyed by the locals who have nothing better. What is excellent are the hiking trails the can be found off the lake; some are difficult to find. The facilities are minimal. It is extremely hot in summer.

Just happened on this little slice of Heaven as we were trying out our motorhome just purchased nearby. Away from the hustle of the city but close enough to enjoy. Much warmer than we anticipated for the first of March but luckily we had an air conditioner. Yes, we are spoiled. Very quite and nice lake views. Would recommend to... More

We have been camping here every year for the last 5 years. Some issues I have are with the park itself, and a few for the area. 1. Our grey water fills much faster than our black, and that is with conserving. Without sewer hookups it is stupid to cart grey water every few days to the dump station. There... More

A lake in the middle of a dessert next to a golf course. Hike around the lake or back in the valley. Gets extremely hot in the summer bring lots of water.

I can not imagine camping in this location in the heat of the summer. Very few trees, picnic tables. It is unfortunate this park has not been maintained and cared for. Lost opportunity in beautiful surroundings.

This man made lake and camp ground are very quiet and out of the way. We visited in Jan 2013 and drove around the lake. Many are fishing in the stocked lake (trout). Kids under the age of 12 don't need a fishing licence if they're with an adult who has a valid one. This would not be my type... More

Living in Palm Desert, I thought I had seen most outdoorsy attractions in the valley until I saw a sign for this place, so I visited. It took about 20 minutes to get to from La Quinta, but it is worth it. The lake has very nice sandy beaches and picnic areas - it is very picturesque and unexpected. The... More
