I grew up in La Mesa and have always loved coming to Lake Murray. I love to walk or bike around the lake. As a child, my grandfather use to bring me fishing at the lake and we would have picnics there. I still love to watch the birds and wildlife around the lake.

There is a paved road around the lake with no vehicle traffic (except the occasional service vehicle or truck cleaning porta johns). It is busy at times with cyclists, roller bladders, people walking their dogs, joggers, moms pushing strollers... so you need to be aware. There are porta johns every mile or so which is nice. No drinking fountains so... More

We enjoyed a 2 mile walk with lots of others. A busy place with good facilities and a trail around most of the lake. Runners, walkers, bikers, rollerbladers had a nice paved route.

This is a great place to go on a walk, where you can get way from the rat race and just enjoy nature. It has many guests but is not obnoxiously crowded. I used to live up on the bluff where the apts. were. Itw as very nice. I don't fish so have not tried the lake itself.

This is not an alpine lake, but still a nice place to take the family for a picnic or to bicycle or skate on a dedicated trail. I wouldn't eat the fish from the lake but it is still a welcome rest from the suburbun sprawl. Bring your bike, skates, or dog.

As with most of the lakes in SD parking is free, hooray. The only problem problem with this place is that the trail does not go all of the way around the lake, you must turn back before the dam. If you need a better burner do the Cowles Mountain trail nearby.

I love to walk at the lake. I enjoy watching the ducks & it's pretty out there. You can also take a lunch & have a picnic. Bring your dog. Good place to get away & get some exercise in.

Reservoir Lake with nice paths for walking, jogging or riding a bike. We like to go there and take our dogd for a walk. Can be crowded in the summer.

Always a nice place to go, take a walk, feed the ducks, enjoy the water and the sunshine. Feel like you're not in the middle of a big city.
