Took the guided tour when we were in town for a wedding.... Wanted to get on the water and take a peek in the caves. If you just rent a kayak without the tour you cannot go into the caves. This was worth the money -- $86 dollars for a two person kayak -- tour was small only 5 boats... more

We chose La Jolla Kayak due to some of the reviews here. We were fortunate to go on a Friday, avoiding the weekend crowds, so the facility was adequate. However, there is only one restroom, and 3 changing areas, and even with only 6 people on our tour, we had to wait to change, and use the restroom, as there... more

Family vacation for four included a day in La Jolla. Called for reservations for both kayak and snorkeling in the same call, but reservation person didn't share the combo tour option. Clean store and changing area; price included locked personal storage. Dress to get wet, as the first wave will swamp the vessel. Once over the waves, was easy paddling... more

Stay away if you are thinking of spending over $60.00 per person. The snorkeling was terrible, the instructions poor and the kayak adventure was a joke. Save your money and do it by renting the equipment on your own. There was no good snorkeling in La Jolla this summer! Don't be fooled by what the tour books are telling you! more

Advised to arrive at LJK 30 minutes prior. Our tour left one hour later, the transport van which was to take us Mt. Soledad ran out of gas which was the reason for the delay. The delay caused the kayak portion of our tour to be cancelled as we were on a tight schedule. During the bicycle tour approx 1/3... more

We recently returned from a trip to the San Diego area. Being from the southeast, we thought it would be fun to experience the Pacific and some of the wildlife and scenery. So, based on reviews, we decided on the Seven-Cave tour with La Jolla Kayak. The scenery was pretty - the wildlife was amazing - guides were very informative... more

From the moment I called to make the reservation I knew this would be a good experience. My family, husband, myself and 2 boys ages 7 & 10 did the 10am tour. From the monent we entered the shop everyone was friendly and helpful. Change area was clean, lockers provided and all questions answered. Our group was small, 5 dbl... more

My boyfriend and I were here for Spring Break last year; the experience so unsettled us that I'm writing this review now, nearly a year later (guess the annoyance and anger wasn't faded by time!) Bottom line: don't go to La Jolla Kayak unless you're taking a tour. If you want to experience it solo, the guides are extremely unhelpful;... more

Did the caves kayaking tour and had a great time. Our guide Jared was friendly, knowledgeable and safety-minded. Their equipment and facilities were in great condition. Staff was professional. Tour was a great way to see rugged coastline and to get closer to nature. I would recommend this tour and tour company. Can keep a few valuables and dry clothes in... more

Went kayaking with my teenage son on Wed 4/8/2009. The forecast was 61 and rainy and the folks at La Jolla Kayak said the water was near whitecaps. This scared me a bit but my son urged me on and so glad we went out because it was the best part of our trip. Our guide, Meg, was great -... more
