I read about this place and was excited to visit for the views, but when we drove up and saw that it is also a veterans memorial, I was overwhelmed. It was amazing to see the names and faces of so many who have sacrificed for our freedoms. A great learning experience for kids too.

I am sure if there is some reason to go look at the actual statue or you have a real interest in the war history it might be more enjoyable. Views were good - but other points are equally great if not better - not worth driving up there for views alone

Keep in mind as you make your way up to it, that you are going to get the absolutely best view of La Jolla because the road was laid out by a snake with the DTs. Once you are there, take out a map because this place is about information overload. I found the best way to approach it was... More

During the day you can overlook much of the city. At night you get to see the night lights of the city. They want to remove the cross from what I hear. Why? It's been around for longer then people know. It's a monument. It should stay in my opinion.

The Mount Soledad Veterans Memorial gives a visitor the BEST VIEW of San Diego from the Pacific Ocean and La Jolla to Mission Bay to downtown and all the way to Tijuana, Mexico. It is a fitting tribute to all Veterans (including Korea and other allies of the U.S.). There are thousands of plaques of veterans - each one is... More

Wanted to do something I haven't done in a while, and that was to check out Mt Soledad, we used to drive up here in High School with dates or friends. And believe or not it was Tripadvisor and the comments I read that made me get in my car and drive to Kate Sessions Park and walk the rest... More

I have been to this place many times and it never gets old. Spectacular views and the memorial to all the veterans is nicely done. A good place to take children as well. Worth seeing.

A drive to Mount Soledad is definitely worth it. There are 360 degree views - absolutely gorgeous! There was ample parking. It is also a monument to our military. We definitely recommend the trip to Mount Soledad.
