Loved the views from the top but more than that was the pictures of the soldiers that died...not just names and dates but pictures so you have a face to go with the name! Makes it more personal and touching. Definitely worth the drive!

We did this as part of a trolley bus tour. I'm not sure I would bother doing it by car. We spent about ten mins looking at the view and the moving memorials to veterans. Recommended, but as part of a tour I think. The views are great.

I thought we were just going to have a spectacular view of La Jolla and the San Diego area. It was so much more. It was on our way to La Jolla so I thought we would stop - parents with 4 teens/college kids. I did not know it was a Veterans Memorial. I have been to many. Boston, Washington... More

If the giant cross atop Mt. Soledad offends you, please don't look at it. The fight continues by those non-christians who would have it removed. This is a wonderful place to view both San Diego's coast and well inland. With views to Miramar base and beyond. Bring a picnic and enjoy the lovely grass. There are trash recepticles, so please... Nice trails, nice views. We had a plaque for our dad installed as he is a Korean war vet. This place needs to stay.

This is a great free stop while in the San Diego area. From the base by the cross you can see 360 degrees all around the surrounding area -- from LaJolla below to Mission Beach and downtown San Diego in the other direction. Great Stop!

Worth the visit- nice tribute and great views. The drive up to the monument goes through a neighborhood, lots of nice houses to see along the way as well.

Great 360 views of the entire area, very nice tribute to our men and women serving in the armed forces, interesting to read the plaques.

We try to take visitors here for the incredible 360-degree views of the coastline and inland. There is a parking lot and plenty of space to walk around and take pictures. No facilities or water though.

Parking's a little tough at the very top but there's a larger parking lot a small hike below. On a clear day, you can see a good bit of Mexico and beyond. Not for the acrophobic but great for history buffs!
