Amazing view over the city

If you want a beautiful view of San Diego then I recommend driving here. It can get a bit crowded but the view is worth it.

Nice place to visit if you are on the area. My visit was a little bit late but manage to learn the story behind the mountain.

Stopped here on the Trolley Tour to La Jolla. Has superb 360 degree views overlooking the pacific and San Diego. Some military history with plaques of servicemen/women and their service records on the walls around the monument. Nice small grass area for chilling out. no food or drink available so take your own.

The 822-foot (251 m) tall hill[3] lies between Interstate 5 to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. Mount Soledad is the location of the last home lived in by Dr. Seuss. His widow, Audrey Geisel, still resides atop Mt. Soledad in a lavish home, which includes an observation tower referred to as the Seuss house by the... More

This is another grand view stop similar to Cabrillo National Monument. I'm not sure of the elevation, but the views from the monument and the grounds are fabulous, you will not want to miss this on your San Diego visit! The monument is dedicated to veterans, and there are plaques all around it with vets' photos and a brief bio... More

We took a top-down drive and came her because we'd heard about the view - and they weren't kidding. It was a clear, pretty day and we could indeed get a 360 degree view of the area - out to Mexico. We left right before sunset and it was starting to get crowded - it would make for a nice... More

Located high atop Soledad Mountain in La Jolla, Mount Soledad honors war veterans from all branches of the military. Features include a 43-foot cross originally dedicated to veterans of the Korean War and black granite plaques dedicated to individual veterans. Visitors can also enjoy awe-inspiring panoramic views of San Diego County, from the Pacific Ocean to the mountains.

This is a great place to visit for paying respects to veterans and for the views. The veteran walls have thousands of plaques dedicated to veterans which are just amazing (my family plaque is there with our five veterans). The views on a clear day are spectacular. You can see downtown San Diego, Mexico, the Channel Islands and North to... More

A great view, the cross, and the memorial to the our veterans is a must see in San Diego. There is also a great story regarding the cross - read about when you are there. The view in the adjacent park is perfect you can see all the way up the coast.

The view from the monument is wonderful. You can see San Diego and the sparkling ocean waters. Take the time to read some of the plaques, and remember those who fought for our freedom.
