My husband and I took time out of the hectic holiday run around to go to this show. It did not disappoint. Second City is the birth place of many fabulous comedians, and the cast of this show was excellent. My daughter and I go to the Nutcracker every year. This show was the perfect counter point to the holiday... More

Recently went to see the musical Hunchback of Notre Dame while on short visit to San Diego. Being from out of town, I was not familiar with these facilities and was very impressed with the total experience. The playhouse is part of a modern structure in a charming setting, it is small but vey well designed with good view from... More

As a New Yorker, it was fun for me to see something that is being worked up for a possible Broadway run. This production of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" was well done, and I look forward to seeing what changes they might make before bringing to Broadway. The facility was larger than I had imagined, and production values were... More

I thought that the birthplace of so many amazing Broadway shows would be a bit more impressive, but I was wrong. The theatre itself, including the front of house areas, is nothing special. The box office opened late, the house opened late, and the show started late. The ushers did not know what they were doing from scanning tickets to... More

We recently saw The Hunchback of Notre Dame here. The show is a great blend of the Disney animated movie and the book. I can't say I like this story, it is very sad & cruel but the music is fantastic & the acting is some of the best. The theatre is a wonderful place to see a play. I... More

We've had season tickets for over a decade. This trio of theatres just keep getting better. Smart, sophisticated, professional. Several Broadway productions were born here and the proximity to LA shows in the quality of actors. Add to this a very diverse group of plays and you have a top-drawer experience.

Very accessible. Pay to park, yes (but only $2). And doesn't appear to be a bad seat in the house. Very intimate place to see shows that very well might land on Broadway (How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying--Matthew Broderick; and The Who's Tommy, to name a couple). It has its Tony Award sitting out in the lobby,... More

La Jolla Playhouse sits on the UCSD campus and is known for experimental theater and excellent direction and casting. We have seen a number of productions there over more than 10 years that we have lived in the area. Parking is easy and everyone at the theater is very helpful. Expect the best efforts for any play produced there. And... More

This playhouse is really nice. It's not huge, but that is what makes it nice. There is really not a bad seat in the house. The people working there are friendly and helpful. Overall, a very good experience.
