If you've never been to the La Jolla Playhouse and like good regional theatre, you must try one of the La Jolla Playhouse's productions. They are always interesting and cutting edge.

On a recent trip to San Diego, we drove up to La Jolla to see if we could get tickets for "The Darrell Hammond Project," a one-man show by the SNL star performed at the La Jolla Playhouse. The Playhouse is on the campus of UC San Diego, in their theatre complex. We were lucky enough to get good seats... More

Read good things online about the playhouse and I wasn't disappointed. Went to see Kingdom City, smallish venue made it an intimate setting. Well written and well acted. Highlight of my trip.

My husband and I took time out of the hectic holiday run around to go to this show. It did not disappoint. Second City is the birth place of many fabulous comedians, and the cast of this show was excellent. My daughter and I go to the Nutcracker every year. This show was the perfect counter point to the holiday... More

Recently went to see the musical Hunchback of Notre Dame while on short visit to San Diego. Being from out of town, I was not familiar with these facilities and was very impressed with the total experience. The playhouse is part of a modern structure in a charming setting, it is small but vey well designed with good view from... More

As a New Yorker, it was fun for me to see something that is being worked up for a possible Broadway run. This production of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" was well done, and I look forward to seeing what changes they might make before bringing to Broadway. The facility was larger than I had imagined, and production values were... More

I thought that the birthplace of so many amazing Broadway shows would be a bit more impressive, but I was wrong. The theatre itself, including the front of house areas, is nothing special. The box office opened late, the house opened late, and the show started late. The ushers did not know what they were doing from scanning tickets to... More
