Very accessible. Pay to park, yes (but only $2). And doesn't appear to be a bad seat in the house. Very intimate place to see shows that very well might land on Broadway (How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying--Matthew Broderick; and The Who's Tommy, to name a couple). It has its Tony Award sitting out in the lobby,... More

La Jolla Playhouse sits on the UCSD campus and is known for experimental theater and excellent direction and casting. We have seen a number of productions there over more than 10 years that we have lived in the area. Parking is easy and everyone at the theater is very helpful. Expect the best efforts for any play produced there. And... More

This playhouse is really nice. It's not huge, but that is what makes it nice. There is really not a bad seat in the house. The people working there are friendly and helpful. Overall, a very good experience.

I've never seen a show at the La Jolla Playhouse that I didn't love. A great chance to catch new musicals and plays being workshopped before they move on to Broadway :)

The local productions at LJ Playhouse have gone on to Broadway and won numerous awards, including Tony Awards. Since this is San Diego, dress can be anything from Black Tie to Levi's and t-shirts, and everyone will be comfortable.

My wife and I wanted a low key night. On a whim, we made choice to see Kingdom City at the LJP and what an enjoyable evening! The theatre is beautiful in a beautiful place, easy access as well. Inside the theatre is a small, homey feel yet you feel that there is big theatre with all the lighting and... More

I am a fan so I am may be biased. I've been a subscriber since we moved to San Diego about 8 years ago. I have had a mixed of jaw droppingly good plays, musicals and have never been disappointed with the performances. A good number of shows go to Broadway and I am glad that they still include a... The intimate setting makes seeing any play there wonderful. We went on the spurr of the moment and we are planning on seeing two different plays later this fall. The area is great for walking after the play and that makes for a great date
