La Jolla Shores Beach is very accessible with a generous sized and free city parking lot. Surfers, students, sunbathers, young and old hang out at this beach. If you can't or don't want to walk on the sandy beach, there are paved paths along the beach. Along the path we came across public bathroom and shower facilities as well as... More

If you have been to the La Jolla Shores, you need to plan to go there and a great place to start is the Cove. There's good shopping and plenty of places to wine and dine along the cove.

I visited this place a couple of times in the past few years, and it's beautiful. I just had to take some pictures. Nice views from different angles, sunshine, ambiance...

This is one of my favorite beaches in San Diego. The water is always a few degrees warmer than other Pacific beaches in the area. In fact this is also a favorite spot for the leopard sharks in late summer, the guitar fish a bit later... both are harmless to humans but a lot of fun to watch and play... More

I definitely recommend this area to get out and walk and enjoy the San Diego weather. We took some fabulous pictures. The parking is somewhat limited; but it is worth the effort.

The most beautiful sunsets I've seen (Next to Hawaii). A soothing atmosphere to be during the afternoon with your family or friends. Not good for swimming but great for relaxing and walking.

We rented a house over Christmas & New Year, we flew in from London, our daughter and family came down from Colorado, and our son and his girl-friend came down from New York. The house was large and had a wonderful view down to the ocean with the beach, waves, palm trees and cliffs, truly superb. We found La Jolla... More

Honestly, as a non-beach sort of guy, this was likely the best possible time for me to visit. But I also recognize I didn't get the real experience, with it being a coolish day walking on the beach.
