It takes some maneuvering to get here. It takes a lot of effort to park. But it's all worth it to see this beautiful stretch if the California coastline. It's a park as well as a beach.

Since the cove is protected, there aren't many places to lay out and spend a beach day. But, if you want to walk up and down the coast and be up close to seals and other wildlife then this is the perfect place to do so. I would recommend adding the cove to your itenerary as a place to drop... More

La Jolla Cove is known for the seals that like to hang out very close to the beach and pier, easily accessible to everyone. The food around La Jolla Cove is phenomenal, but can be quite pricey, especially at places like Eddie V's. Nonetheless, it is a great place to go and the food is worth the money

We snorkeled with the kids in the cove. We saw seals, and lots of wild life. It was super crowded, but once you get in the water, you escape the crowds. Very cool and worth the trip down the stairs.

The views were nice, even on an overcast day. There were sea lions, who were very active, allover the rocks. Cormerants and pelicans were also visible. People complained about it being smelly, but that's nature.

We stopped here on our way from San Diego to LA. It was really cool to stop and see the seals. Some people walked down to a part of the beach where there were not any seals. It is a little smelly, but what else do you expect with a bunch of seals?

This cove is beautiful to look at from a distance, but the seals and the birds have completely taken over. I don't know if you can swim here, but it would not be advisable. The last time I was here I was looking at it from the above on the street and the stench was terrible. It is a good... More

Beautiful sites and views, great restaurants but smelly!! Need to clean up the bird/sea lion feces. Saw Dolphins from the rocks so that was cool.

La Jolla is such majestic place to visit. The water is always do gorgeously blueish green. Lots of tide pools to see Sea creatures. There are so many places to eat and shop.
