A great spot to sit on the beach, watch the seal lions, walk round the cove and see the more adventurous people kayaking. A pretty spot to spend some time. However the parking in the day time is difficult unless you arrive early. The length of stay would be up to the individuals choice of activity or leisure time.

We made a stop at La Jolla Cove on the way up the coast to catch a glimpse of the Sunset over the ocean. It took us a couple of tries to get to the cove because we kept missing the street. Parking wasnt too difficult but I could see how it would be difficult if it were busier. First... More

If you can find a place to park (and good luck with that), this is a great little jaunt around the cove. You can see the sea lions, the birds, and the kayakers all enjoying the Pacific. It's a fun walk around the cove for the family or a romantic stroll for couples.

Sunset, the cove itself ! I'm not sure if i would do snorkeling, given the cold water of pacific coast. Plan ahead for kayak trips - really worth the experience.

La Jolla Cove is a beautiful scenic place that is a favorite among scuba divers. It is also the home to many sea lions who bask on the stones. It is a great place to decompress following a hectic day. Just sit by the water, listen to and watch the waves roll in and watch the sea lions. Catch a... More

I love being here, but parking isn't easy so be patient. Walking along the cliff is always entertaining, there are seals, sealions, pelicans, cheeky squirrels and people watching is fun too. There are a couple of little beach areas and you can dive with the sealife or kayak (from la jolla shores). There's a sea cave that you can visit... More

Love the smell of the Pacific; listening to the impressive waves crash onto the rocky shore. Not so fond of the smell further down of seal and sea lion dung.

There are a lot of Harbor Seals, Pelicans, Seagulls, Cormorants, and more, on the rocks overlooking the beach and on the beach. It is nature, it is beautiful, but the smell is overpowering in some areas. At one end of the cove one of the beaches was closed for Harbor Seal puppying . Over 50 seals on that beach !... More
