This is still a beautiful spot to watch marine life, snorkel, explore a cave, or just soak up the sun. However, construction is underway right around the steps down to the cove, so the noise and detours were a little intrusive right down at the beach. I'm sure it will be a better experience when the town is finished with... More

Great access to the seals. They are very entertaining. But PLEASE be careful and don't fall off into the water and don't get so close to a seal that they bite you. Do however get cute footage of them barking, playing, showing off, and if you're lucky you'll see a little one crawl across the tops of sleeping adults and... More

Make sure you have several hours to visit La Jolla and the Cove. You may even want to rent a kayak from the other side of town and go to the rocks and snorkel with the seals. Recommended for any age. MeuterMedia

The cliffs overlooking the ocean and wildlife at La Jolla are very cool to see. It is a little smelly with the seals/sea lions but not as bad as people make it sound on here. The parking can be a bit crazy but it is worth the wait. We were fortunate and pulled up right as someone was leaving. If... More

Families will want their kids to see the seals that everyone hypes, but both times I've visited, I've been underwhelmed. The cove where the seals beach is under construction at the moment, so the chain link fencing and construction debris don't help at all. But even when that construction is over, the seal beach will still just be worth a... More

My wife and I had a great time at La Jolla Cove. Seeing the seals up close was really neat for a bunch of Texans. The scenery was amazing as well. If you are looking for a lot of activities then this isn't the place for you, but if you want to relax, enjoy the views and see some seals... More

This is one of my favorite spots to take visitors to San Diego. There is a beautiful walkway that extends from the cove to the "wall." The Wall is a place where you can watch the local sea lions sun bathe and venture on a breaker path over the water to get a closer view at the sea life. Although... More

LaJolla is a beautiful coastal town. At this time the Cove is undergoing some renovations on the Children's area.

We drove from Newport Coast to la Jolla via the Pacific Coast Highway to enjoy the sights. Parking was tough but we parked at a restaurant garage for $1.50 per 1/2 hour. If we ate at the restaurant afterward the parking would have been free. The sights were amazing but the smell of the sea lions was bad. We spent... More
