For the so-called Jewel of San Diego, this was a disappointment, tacky shops, "antique" shops that weren't. In my view La Jolla is seriously overrated.

It is the perfect walk, perfect view, perfect everything. It is very relaxing plus if you go during sunset, oh my gosh, just perfect. Except that most of the time, there's a lot of people.

People watch, sit and relax, take in the expanse of the cove with kayakers and paddlers, it is all there. There is lots of wild live too from brown pelicans flying by or sitting to seals sunning themselves on the rocks. And there is a small beach for swimming. There is lots of space for the family picnic. A place... More

This was the perfect spot to sit with my wife and watch the sunset go down over the lovely pacific horizon. We were upwind from the seals that day and had no problems with smells. Just to take in the sounds and the ocean view makes this a can't miss spot when in La Jolla.

We went to La Jolla for the modern art museum and the cove -- and wound up spending all our time strolling along the water and enjoying the wildlife and the ocean. Nothing against the museum -- we'll see it another time, we hope.

It is a nice place to include in your visit to San Diego. The Cove has a lovely view of the ocean and should be a great place to watch the sunset.

We discovered the cove last year after searching for things to do while in San Diego. We visited then and again in February with Canadian friends from Cobourg,On. They loved it as much as we did.A must see for anyone visiting the area.

Very scenic and nice area for walking around. I would have preferred less stores, etc. It is a beautiful area by itself....and while I understand why there are so many businesses in the area, I would prefer to let the scenery be the main attraction

If you want to see the seals and lions up close you need to take a look here, very scenic and you can get real close but be careful you don't fall or get chased

We drove up just as the sun was setting. No cost....just a breathtaking view. The sea lions are fun to watch. Worth the short drive!
